Abstract

В статье предпринимается попытка представить реакцию русской периодической печати на подписание в 1902 г. союзного договора между Великобританией и Японией. Автором выявляется тематика и анализируется содержание публикаций как столичных, так и провинциальных изданий. Делается вывод о том, что факт оформления англо-японского союза получил широкое отражение и далеко неоднозначную, а подчас и противоречивую оценку на страницах российских газет и журналов того времени.
