Annotation
The article examines a little-studied phenomenon in Russian history as the experience of local government reforms in the Samara region in 1993-1996. The study showed that the administration of the period under study solved problems related to the stabilization of the economy and society. The author concluded that the administration of the Samara region failed to completely resolve the food issue, however, the necessary steps were taken in the field of health and education.
