Annotation
The article is devoted to the history of the study of the craft of the Bilyar settlement within the framework of the activities of the Society of Archeology, History and Ethnography at the Imperial Kazan University. It is noted that, despite the rich historiography of Volga Bulgaria, many issues of craft organization remain insufficiently disclosed due to the difficulty of localizing production centers.
