In this study, the results of an experimental assessment of the toxic effects of smoking products on model organisms are presented — larvae of the grey flesh fly (Sarcophaga carnaria), bloodworm (Chironomus), and Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata). It has been established that tobacco smoke, water‑soluble components of cigarette filters, and food treated with tobacco substances exert a pronounced toxic effect, leading to reduced activity, impaired development, and death of the larvae.
