- The article raises the question of the importance of studying the works of modern authors in the framework of literary education of schoolchildren. In particular, the features of the poetics of Zakhar Prilepin's book "Dogs and Other People", included in the federal curriculum of secondary general education in literature, are considered. The emphasis is on the cyclical nature of the collection as the most characteristic of the writer's works, revealing a natural philosophical picture of the world.
