  • Lexico-Semantic Groups of Chuvash Hydronyms

    Abstract:
    The article is devoted to the lexical and semantic analysis of Chuvash hydronyms. The purpose of the study is to classify the names of water bodies by lexical and semantic groups, to identify the main principles of the nomination of hydro-names. The article deals with the names of rivers and streams, lakes and ponds, swamps and swampy places, the names of springs and wells. The main material for the analysis was collected by the author during field research, data from the toponymic file of the Scientific Archive of the CSUH and various cartographic sources, maps of land stored in rural administrations of the Chuvash Republic were used. The main methods are descriptive, comparative, typological, and statistical ones. The results of the study showed that according to the lexical and semantic classification, Chuvash hydronyms are divided into two groups: 1) hydronyms that reflect the physical and geographical properties of water bodies and their environment; 2) hydronyms that have arisen as a result of practical human activity. Most of the names of water bodies are based on a specific feature of the geographical realities themselves. Their Chuvash language can be grouped into the following subgroups: 1) names containing a significant feature of the object; 2) names indicating the ground, soil; 3) names related to the plant world; 4) names associated with the animal world; 5) names indicating the location of the water body; 6) names expressed by numerical indicators; 7) figurative and metaphorical names. Hydronyms that have arisen as a result of the practical activity of a person are divided into the following subgroups: 1) hydronyms related to the life and economic life of the population; 2) hydronyms whose meanings are related to the social life and spiritual culture of the population; 3) hydronyms derived from anthroponyms; 4) hydronyms derived from ethnonyms; 5) hydronyms derived from toponyms. It is concluded that as a result of lexical and semantic analysis, it is possible to establish the principles of the nomination of hydronymes, to identify the physical and geographical characteristics of the area, to obtain new information about the material and spiritual culture of the Chuvash people.

Актуальность объясняется отсутствием исследований гидронимов Республики Татарстан в традиционной культуре, несущих этнолингвистическую, географическую, этнографическую и историческую информацию. В работе использован фольклорно-экспедиционный материал, собранный во время фольклорной практики студентов Казанского государственного института культуры. Изучение данного гидронима в традиционной культуре татар может дать ценные сведения о этнокультурном развитии татарского народа, о его фольклоре.

    Процесс имянаречения играет важную роль в жизни людей. Актуальность исследования заключается в том, что в семантике имени содержится информация о культуре, обычаях, мировоззрении общества. Личные онимы также способны много сказать о своих носителях. Цель статьи – проследить, как коннотация влияет на передачу и восприятие личных имен. Подчеркивается взаимосвязь между звучанием и значением имени, по звучанию имени можно сделать вывод о его положительной или отрицательной оценке.

Данное явление часто встречается в возникновении антитезы в простых предложениях с противоречивыми значениями в качестве пословиц и поговорок в составе сложных предложений. Это положение свидетельствует о том, что явление антонимии встречается не только в лексико-семантическом слое языка, но и во всех его иерархических ступенях.

    Abstract:
    The article is devoted to the problem of studying the history of origin, form change, etymology of the names of various geographical objects in the city of Cheboksary. The thesis is substantiated that, due to the change in the ethnic composition of the settlement, some part of geographic objects change their names, some remain unchanged, and some retaining some basis, begin to combine the specifics of several languages in onyms. On the basis of the reviewed materials on toponymy of the city of Cheboksary, the thesis is affirmed that onyms on the territory of the city of Cheboksary were formed on the basis of three ethno-linguistic sources: Turkic, Chuvash, Mari, and Russian.

    The article considers the etymology of the toponym Shigali. the spread of chuvash names of settlements as the chuvashes move from the lower reaches of the Volga to the Wild Field. Borrowed elements in the Chuvash language from Arabic, Mari languages are fixed. The identification of a number of historical data on the basis of archival sources allows us to consider the historical and etymological branch of the prevalence of the Shigali oikonym in different lexical variations and phonetic variants. Materials on toponymy of the Chuvash region from the point of view of different scientists are also considered. The key goal of the study, which is described in this article, is simple - to "read" the history of native land in the language of toponymy is very interesting. Everyone reads it as far as possible – who as a simple man, who as a scientific. To understand it correctly, a complex historical analysis and classification of toponyms is needed. The language of our native land is rich and eloquent and a person who can read toponymy, it can tell infinitely many interesting things.
