    The article is devoted to a cognitive study of metaphorical models that represent the psychology of professional personality. The peculiarities of representation of the professional world picture as a reflection of an intrapersonal conflict between external value requirements and peculiarities of mental activity of a doctor as an individual have been revealed.

    Abstract:
    The relationship of metaphors functioning in artistic and medical scientific discourse is analyzed in the paper. The cognitive approach assumes a universal character of metaphorical transfer representing oncological diseases. The analysis of language material based on the metaphorical model method has shown the different degree of detail and filling of metaphorical models in artistic and scientific discourse.
