- Abstract:
- The aim of the scientific work is to study the key ways of expressing the principles of politeness in the Chuvash language. The main principles of politeness were described in detail in the works of D. Leach. Each language has its own models and principles of expressing politeness. During the study, the following principles used in Chuvash speech communication were identified: verbal, affixal, with the help of interjections, a special and universal component tarkhasshăn (please). Interrogative-negative constructions, enumerative constructions, as well as imperative forms of verbs with particles and interjections contribute to the softening and incitement of the expressed request, plea, or demand. The use of the following scientific methods during the work, such as the method of continuous sampling, descriptive-analytical, objective and complex analysis, made it possible to reveal that the principles of politeness formed by the affixal method are characteristic only of the Chuvash colloquial speech. The results of the study are applicable to the work of teachers of comprehensive schools and university lecturers in teaching politeness, tolerance, and establishing verbal communication between students.

- Abstract:
- The article deals with the spelling of nominal word combinations in the Chuvash language, the components of which are connected by an implicit version of the affix of the third person. The work points to the contradiction in the orthography of similar word combinations: кĕреке пуçĕ "toast-master", вăйă пуçĕ "head of the game", кĕтÿ пуçĕ "leader of the pack" (separately) – пирĕн çулпуç "our leader", гений çулпуç "brilliant leader" (in one word). The modern spelling dictionaries do not include a number of word combinations, which are identical in structure with the syntagmas represented in dictionaries in the joined-up writing. The author proves that a separate spelling corresponds to the orthography of all nominal syntagmas.
