    Abstract:
    The article explores the possibilities of formal and non-formal learning via open, flexible and distant learning (OFDL) models, which are important elements within the broader education system. The author reviews foreign articles on this issue and concludes that it is necessary to experiment with open, flexible models and technologies of teaching and learning that can create socially engaged and active learning contexts.
