- Currently, tourism is a backbone of the economy, and together with its associated sectors, it effectively combines many activities for global economic development. According to UNWTO data, tourism forms national competitive advantages and accounts for almost 11% of world GDP, introduces more than 4 trillion dollars into turnover, and for a number of countries, revenues from the tourism industry correspond to the basis in the country's budget. Currently, tourism is developing in the context of a deep crisis associated with the pandemic and the emergence of new strains of COVID-19, as well as with measures of external sanctions pressure caused by global political processes, which led to the need to revise traditional approaches to the leading tourism sectors – inbound and outbound, and in particular, international. International tourism has been largely affected by the coronavirus, as demand for services, the largest sources of foreign exchange earnings, has sharply decreased. The research problems are based on methodological approaches reflecting the issues of active transformation of global processes of world practice in the development of the tourism industry and its most important sectors. Technological and digital transformations are considered as key factors in the development of tourism. Possible trajectories of further tourism development are scientifically justified – transactional and infrastructural.

- Abstract:
- The author outlines that in order to maintain interest in ethnic culture during the digitalization of personal space for people interested in the ethnos of their and other regions, it is necessary to constantly expand the options for ethnographic tourism excursion programs, enrich them with exclusive topics that are in demand by wide target groups, as well as complement traditional, sometimes conservative, tourist routes with new display facilities and new excursion technologies. The purpose of the article is to determine the prospects of using different types of ethnic culture in various formats of a tourist product (tour, excursion) to increase the interest of citizens in Russian history against the background of cases of its distortion and free interpretations that became more frequent nowadays. Methods. The author analyzed some types of ethnographic tourism services in the Rostov Region, which contribute to maintaining interest in the ethnic culture of the region. Conclusions. The author concludes and presents a look at the future of preserving ethnic culture in the complex of tourist and excursion offers. It is shown that this requires analysis and transformation of traditional tourist and excursion routes and programs, as well as active interaction not only with modern people, but also with organizations representing and promoting ethnic culture and, accordingly, with related enterprises supporting them in this. It is concluded that the academic methods and tools for preserving ethnic culture, of course, remain, but not only they already determine the future of this process.

- Ethnic tourism is an important cultural and educational direction in the field of knowledge of traditions and everyday life of an ethnic group. The subject of the research is ethnic tourism. The research is aimed at solving the scientific problem of substantiating and developing modern forms of internal ethnotourism in a multicultural region. Methods: comparative and geographical, statistical methods, SWOT-analysis, field research. It was revealed that Russia, being a multi-ethnic state, has significant prerequisites for the development of ethnic tourism and contributes to the inclusion of the original culture of peoples in the world heritage. Important centers of ethnotourism in the regions of Russia are ethnographic museums, open-air museums, and ethnographic villages, the concentration of which can be observed in Western Siberia and the Ural-Volga region. One of the promising areas for the development of ethnic tourism is the Orenburg region, which has a number of competitive advantages (the presence of various forms of folk art, including the holding of popular mass national holidays; the production of exclusive goods and services that are products of folk crafts; the presence of a greater number and variety of types of cultural heritage objects).
