- The article provides the definition of the concepts: «socio-personal development», «universal learning activities». The description of one of the possible methods of achieving socio-personal results by blind teenagers is also given in the article. These activities help the students to obtain skills that allow them to successfully communicate with sighted adults and express their abilities on the same level with teenagers without vision problems.

- Due to the progress in science and technology and the changing character of social relationships contemporary polycultural society makes increasingly high demands on the personality of a primary school teacher, his professionalism, competences and personal qualities. The author points out that the aim of education is personal, cognitive, polycultural development of students providing such key competence as the ability to learn. Universal learning activities formed by the teacher at each stage of the class, their properties and quality determine the effectiveness of the educational process, in particular knowledge assimilation, skills formation, image of the world and main types of students’ competences.

Problems of teaching Russian in schools for blind and visually impaired children

- Abstract:
- The article deals with the state of both the general and the special methods of the Russian (native) language. From the standpoint of current requirements, the state of the methodology of teaching Russian language in typhoid pedagogy is analyzed, in particular, the work of such typhoid pedagogues as M.I. Zemtsovoy, V.A. Mylnikova, N.S. Kostyuchek, I.L. Morgaylik, as well as I.P. Chigrinova. The work identifies the range of problems to be solved. As an answer to one of such questions, a route for linguistic competence formation in blind adolescents in the process of learning Russian is proposed, aimed at the development of functional literacy and the implementation of correctional and developmental activities.
