Revisiting the Issue of Gothic Language Teaching Methodology as a Part of Classical Languages and Cultures Course

- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to the description of possibilities of applying main approaches implemented in Classical languages teaching at universities in the practice of the Gothic language teaching. The purpose of the article is to consider the methodology of the Gothic language teaching as a part of Classical languages and cultures course. Methods of research. In the course of work the following research methods were applied: analysis and observation. Research results. Various exercises used by the author in her own practice are presented in the article. The author emphasizes that it is necessary to diversify the forms of work for the emergence of cognitive interest and motivation to learn the language in students. When implementing the approach described in the article, by the end of the Classical languages and cultures course, students acquire the ability to analyze authentic texts in the Gothic language, develop memory, logical thinking, the ability to read the text thoughtfully, work with a dictionary, etc. It is concluded that it is necessary to supplement the grammatical approach to the presentation of the material with elements of typological and cultural approaches, as well as it is meaningful to introduce such exercises for the development of students' linguistic and metalinguistic competencies, which are based on adapted Gothic texts.

- Abstract:
- The monograph discusses philosophical education in connection with situations of uncertainty. Efforts to read the philosophical work allow to consider philosophy as a way of intellectual and psychological activity on reconstruction of the lost, or searching for a new meaning in situations of uncertainty, when the need to make a decision is connected with the fundamental inadequacy of the initial information. As a tool for adapting to situations of uncertainty, philosophy uses conceptual analysis, developing a person’s linguistic competence.

Problems of teaching Russian in schools for blind and visually impaired children

- Abstract:
- The article deals with the state of both the general and the special methods of the Russian (native) language. From the standpoint of current requirements, the state of the methodology of teaching Russian language in typhoid pedagogy is analyzed, in particular, the work of such typhoid pedagogues as M.I. Zemtsovoy, V.A. Mylnikova, N.S. Kostyuchek, I.L. Morgaylik, as well as I.P. Chigrinova. The work identifies the range of problems to be solved. As an answer to one of such questions, a route for linguistic competence formation in blind adolescents in the process of learning Russian is proposed, aimed at the development of functional literacy and the implementation of correctional and developmental activities.
