    Annotation (in English): The article is devoted to the study of modern digital technologies that have a significant impact on the transformation of educational processes. The key areas of technology integration are considered: adaptive learning systems based on artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies, the use of big data and learning analytics, as well as the development of massive open online courses (MOOCs) and blended learning formats. Special attention is paid to the practical aspects of implementing these technologies in the higher education process and their impact on the development of students' digital competencies. An analysis of potential benefits is carried out, including increasing the level of personalization, interactivity and accessibility of education. In parallel, the main challenges are explored, such as the problem of the digital divide, cybersecurity and personal data protection, and the risk of digital fatigue. The methodological

    The chapter explores the role and methods of fostering learning motivation in teaching English to students of non-linguistic specialties. The author emphasizes the crucial role of motivation as a system-forming factor that determines the success, sustainability, and effectiveness of educational activities. The paper analyzes the main types of motivation (intrinsic/extrinsic, integrative/instrumental, motivation for success/fear of failure) and their specifics in the context of language training. Particular attention is paid to the problem of students' low initial level of language proficiency and the need for targeted work to develop motivation from the beginning of university studies. The central role of the teacher as an organizer of a motivating educational environment and a facilitator is defined. The chapter offers practical strategies and methods for enhancing learning motivation, including ensuring the professional relevance of the course content, using interactive teaching methods, working with authentic texts, and creating an atmosphere of psychological support. It is concluded that effective motivation management is key to forming the high professional competence of future specialists.

    This chapter is devoted to interactive methods of teaching a foreign language using the Miro online platform. Combining traditional methodological approaches with the capabilities of modern online platforms such as Miro opens up promising areas in teaching foreign languages. The authors consider how this online platform can be effectively used to organize students' group work, increase their motivation and, as a result, improve the quality of learning. The potential of the platform is being explored, combining the theoretical foundations of interactive learning with practical experience using the platform. Special attention is paid to the role of active involvement of students in the educational process, the development of communication skills and the formation of intercultural competence. The authors substantiate the effectiveness of interactive methods for creating a favorable educational environment that stimulates creative activity and independence of students.

    Abstract:
    The article examines the concept of continuing education in the context of modern socio-economic changes and technological development. The main focus is on the role of continuing education in training professionals who are able to adapt to rapidly changing labor market conditions and requirements. The impact of technological progress on society and the education system is analyzed, and the main functions of continuing education are highlighted: professional, social and personal. The work emphasizes the importance of developing students' independence, responsibility and determination in the process of continuous professional education. The necessity of updating the knowledge and skills of specialists in various fields is emphasized in order to maintain competitiveness. The article considers the role of learning foreign languages in professional training and their impact on the expansion of human opportunities in education, work and communication. Theoretical research methods were used to analyze the problem, including analysis of scientific publications and official documents, such as the Concept of Technological Development of Russia until 2030. As a result of the analysis, the key competencies necessary for successful professional, family and social life in the context of the transformation of the socio-economic sphere have been identified. Among them are computer skills and foreign languages, technological literacy, entrepreneurial skills and social skills. It was also noted that Nizhnevartovsk State University (NVSU) pays special attention to the study of English in the framework of the program "English for academic mobility". It is emphasized that academic mobility contributes to the expansion of educational horizons, the formation of intercultural competencies and the creation of employment potential for graduates.

    Abstract:
    The article is devoted to the possibilities of using generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools in teaching English for specific purposes (ESP). The article examines innovative approaches to learning, being necessary due to the rapid development of technology and requirements of the modern labor market. It analyzes the prospects of GAI in ESP context, including a comparative description of the most popular AI tools. The authors explore the functionality, advantages, and limitations of these tools, their impact on teaching a professionally oriented foreign language. Examples of the successful application of GAI in university courses are given. The emphasis is made on the development of communication skills and the adaptation of educational materials to specific professional fields. The article discusses the results of the empirical study showing positive changes in students' learning motivation and progress. The use of GAI contributes to more effective and personalized learning, improves vocabulary, grammatical accuracy and writing skills. However, the successful implementation of GAI requires additional knowledge and training of teachers, as well as focusing on the educational context. Special attention is paid to the need for a balanced approach when using GAI in order to avoid dependence on technology and preserve the positive experience gained in the process of applying traditional teaching methods.

  • Metacognitive scaffolding in teaching English for law students

    Abstract:
    Metacognitive support in foreign language classes for law students is considered as a potentially effective pedagogical technology that fosters students’ ability to self-manage their learning process. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of introducing metacognitive elements into English lessons for law students through a comparative analysis of students’ level of metacognitive awareness before and after the experimental period. The article presents the results of an empirical study involving 30 students, equally divided into two groups (control and experimental). Students’ metacognitive awareness was measured twice: at the beginning and the end of the experiment by an author-developed questionnaire consisting of 15 questions in three blocks. Statistical processing of the results was performed in Excel. For 14 weeks, students in the experimental group completed tasks aimed at developing planning, monitoring, and self-evaluation skills. The results of the experiment showed an increase in the level of metacognitive awareness of students in the experimental group by an average of 21,5%. The practical significance and novelty of the study is in the validation of metacognitive educational technologies in the class of Legal English. The practical tasks can be used to design educational programmes and teaching materials aimed at developing students’ skills in independent information work, critical thinking, and self-regulation.

  • The Continuous tence forms of the English language in the cognitive-semiotic aspect

    The article offers a cognitive-semiotic analysis of English Continuous tense forms. The purpose of this study is to analyze the internal form of Continuous tenses which are considered as grammatical phraseological units. By describing the cognitive phraseosemantic modelling of ‘conceptual complexes’ through grammar means the authors endeavour to define and formulate basic cognitive-semiotic features of English Continuous tense forms. As a result it is concluded that the general cognitive model of the Continuous tenses actualises the discursive identity between the Actant-Subject and the Actant-predicate noun expressed by the gerund of the meaningful verb. This model expresses the semantics of a confined action developing in a limited spatio-temporal frame without a rigid attachment to the temporal markers of the beginning and end of the action. Different Continuous tenses show different positions of the observing subject in relation to the time of action, as well as modifications of the basic cognitive model of Continuous. For Present Continuous and Past Continuous, the specificity of their discourse syntagmatics is that the position of the observing subject differs. Future Continuous is characterised by a modified model of Actant-Subject and Actant- predicate noun identity, which develops an additional cognitive parameter. In this case the paradigmatic dependence of the predicate noun on the subject of an statement is observed. The paper also considers the cognitive model of the construction to be going to + infinitive as a special case of the cognitive model of Continuous.

    The chapter discusses the use of interactive methods in teaching English to develop students' creative and communicative skills in the context of digitalization. In the context of global digitalization and the growing importance of intercultural communication skills, interactive approaches are becoming especially relevant in the educational process. The study aims to identify the impact of digital technologies and interactive methods, such as role-playing games, project assignments and virtual discussions, on the development of communicative and creative competencies. The paper presents the results of an experiment involving students, analyzes the effectiveness of using digital platforms, and discusses the advantages and limitations of such methods.   • Educational online technologies as effective tools for learning English terminology of language for specific purposes (LSP) by the students of non-linguistic university specialties: interdisciplinary approach

    Abstract:
    The paper describes the research conducted by the team of the English teachers of English for Humanities Dpt. of Southern federal university. The investigation aimed at the study of effectiveness of learning English terminology for special purposes by the non-linguistics university program students with the help of IT-technologies. In the experiment the online course "Legal Communication: Legal Writing and Oral Communication in the Practice of Law", developed by the interdisciplinary team of university teachers of the Faculty of Law and the English teachers of English for Humanities Dpt. on the Moodle LMS. Interdisciplinary approach applied in the course of investigation embraced the main principles of two sciences: methods of teaching foreign languages and terminology study. The results obtained show that both the usage of educational IT-technologies and the educational IT- products increases the students’ motivation for learning the language of their future profession if the content of the educational IT- products is thoroughly developed on the main subjects of theoretical and practical terminology study: the description of the history of formation and development of a language for special purposes, the linguistic and extra-linguistic factors that influenced its development, its vocabulary, style and genres, the techniques of appropriate use of terms in the special context.

  • The place of biblionyms in the onomastic space

    The work is devoted to the study of biblionyms as one of the most important components of onomastics. It examines the biblionymy of Chuvash, Russian and English fiction using the methods of continuous sampling, systematization and classification of material, descriptive-analytical and comparative approaches. At the moment, biblionyms have not been studied enough. At the same time, their study is relevant and significant, since the title can be the key to understanding the text. This work is intended to clarify the interpretation of the term “biblionym”. At the same time, the author examines the functions of biblionyms, their classification, and identifies the place of titles in the system of onomastic terminology of the languages under study, which in the future should contribute to the development of the general theory of onomastics. The author of the work suggests using the term “biblionym” to understand the name of any text. At the same time, from his point of view, there is a need to introduce into onomastic studies such terms as “microbiblionym” for the names of chapters, paragraphs and constituent parts of the text and “macrobiblionim” for the names of collections of texts. By its position, a biblionym is a means of connecting the text with the outside world, in particular with the reader. Based on the biblionym, the reader will be able to form an idea of the content of the text.

    Through theoretical analysis, the study aims to determine the main advantages of voice assistants in teaching spoken English. The methodology analyzes well-known voice assistants: Alexa from Amazon, Google Assistant, Siri from Apple, Alice from Yandex, and Alesya from the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences. As a result of the study, data was obtained that the help of the above services facilitated learning spoken language. The study's author concluded that the main advantages of voice assistants are mobility, multilingualism, and fast feedback. With the help of voice assistants, a student can increase his vocabulary, improve pronunciation, and master English grammar.

  • Developing Spiritual and Moral Values of High School Students in English Lessons

    Abstract:
    The article describes an experimental study aimed at developing the spiritual and moral values of high school students in English lessons. It was assumed that the use of debatable teaching methods would contribute to the development of spiritual and moral values of high school students in English lessons. The study included 3 stages: the primary diagnosis of the spiritual and moral sphere of the personality of students of experimental and control groups – M. Rokich's methodology "Diagnosis of value orientations", diagnosis of moral education by M. I. Shilova, methods of studying patriotic education by I.D. Lushnikov, methods "Study of self-esteem of personality" by S. A. Budassi; development, testing and implementation in the educational process in an experimental group of discussion methods of teaching; conducting a control diagnosis of the spiritual and moral sphere of students and analyzing the effectiveness of the proposed exercises. The analysis of the research results showed that the use of debatable teaching methods has a positive impact on the development of spiritual and moral values of high school students in English lessons. Proven and implemented discussion methods in the educational process are important for understanding the development of spiritual and moral values of high school students and can be useful for educational practices.

    The purpose of this work is to substantiate the ethno-cultural orientation in teaching English among bilingual students of Tuvan State University as the basis for the formation of intercultural competence. The strengthening of internationalization and mutual influence of polylinguocultural social communities in different spheres of life actualizes the question of the need to solve educational problems in a broad socio-cultural context and the dialogue of cultures. It is possible through a discipline in English, aimed at studying Tuvan culture by students in the context of the past and the present. We have defined the purpose of the discipline, the content of cultural knowledge, the planned competencies as a result of studying the discipline by students, and also formulated principles. The discipline is based on the application of the innovative subject-integrated methodology CLIL, combining content and language. Its combination with the ethno-cultural component in teaching English creates the potential not only to improve the skills of foreign language communicative competence, but also contributes to the formation of intercultural competence of students.

    The relevance of the chapter is determined by the fact that foreign language teaching in a non-language university should be aimed at the formation of intercultural communicative foreign language competence, an important part of which is the ability to communicate in a professionally-oriented environment. The purpose of this study is to determine the natural learning of spoken language in a foreign language using communicative gestalt situations. The results of the study allow us to conclude that when organizing foreign language teaching by using communicative gestalt situations, it is necessary to take into account the features of modern psychological principles of the formation of bilingual consciousness of students and the national specifics of the communication culture of the people of the language being studied.

  • University lecture: experience of teaching chemistry to foreign students

    The article presents the experience of teaching chemistry to foreign students of a medical university. To facilitate the understanding of educational material in chemistry by foreign students, the didactic potential of university lectures has been expanded. Every year, Russian universities accept citizens from more than 170 countries to study. The annual growth in the number of foreign students corresponds to the national course for further integration into the educational and scientific community of the allied states. The relevance of the study is determined by the need of Russian universities to develop educational and methodological materials in a foreign language for training programs for foreign students. The aim of this study is to facilitate the understanding of lecture material, and, as a result, to increase the effectiveness of teaching chemistry to foreign students of a medical university through the use of an English-language course of lectures in the learning process. Within this work, using the method of students questionnaire survey, a pedagogical study of the attitude of foreign students to the use of a course of chemistry lectures in English was carried out. The study involved 80 foreign students of Altai State Medical University, citizens of far abroad countries. It was found that the described course of lectures minimizes the difficulties of foreign students' perception of large amounts of educational material (97.5% of respondents), increases the efficiency of independent work (92.5%), helps to overcome the language barrier when teaching in an intermediary language (67.5%), as a result, there is a general interest of foreign students in chemistry as a science (95%), facilitating of educational material understanding and an increase in academic performance (96.2% of those who successfully passed the exam in chemistry compared to 60% of students in the control group). Thus, we came to the conclusion that the use of a developed English-language course of lectures in the teaching chemistry makes it easier for students to perceive the lecture material and improve the quality of chemistry education for foreign students.

    The relevance of the research is due to the objective need for further implementation of the achievements of the theory of problem-based learning in the educational process of secondary school through the development of new, more advanced, technological maps of the English lesson that meet modern conditions and regulatory framework. Based on the analysis of scientific publications, it was revealed that at present there is a lack of practice-oriented methodological recommendations based on the technology of problem-based learning for English lessons in general educational organizations. Studies aimed at introducing problem-based learning in English lessons do not always take into account the specifics of meeting the requirements for the development of the technological map of the lesson, including the provisions of the Federal Educational Program of Basic General Education and the updated requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Basic General Education, which entered into force on September 1, 2022. Therefore, the authors have developed a technological lesson map, which is based on the theory of problem-based learning and includes the most effective components of linguistic and pedagogical models of problem situations. Evaluation of the implementation of the research results according to the methods of E.V. Mukhacheva and L. Michelson proved that the technological map of the English language lesson developed on the basis of problem-based learning in secondary school contributes to the achievement by students of educational results in the academic subject "English" required by the Federal Educational Program of Basic General Education and the Federal State Educational Standard of Basic General Education.

    Abstract:
    The article deals with a vital problem of the specifics while mastering a foreign language (English) by the students studying at the training department of “Public and municipal administration”. The aim of this scientific article is to analyze the peculiarities of studying a foreign language by students of management specialties, which can allow one to explore English-language sources with a complex vocabulary and conceptual apparatus. The author of the article uses theoretical and empirical research methods. The research material is the content of professional training, while the means of education are authentic English texts of professional subjects, allowing students to master international terminological tools. The results of the research show the need to develop critical, analytical thinking among the students, in addition to mastering the general course of a foreign language (English). The scientific direction of ESAP is depicted in the article, which allows professional and language skills’ teaching in a specific disciplinary context. It can be concluded that the attention of the students studying a foreign language in the direction of preparation 'State and municipal management' should be focused on various types of analysis, such as logical, comparative, lexical and terminological, contextual ones, which, in turn, can require critical and analytical thinking development, selection of information, its processing, interpretation, as well as its adequate use.
