- Abstract:
- The chapter examines the activities of the Ryazan Correctional Shelter for Juvenile Offenders in 1900 based on the reports of the Board of the Ryazan Society of Correctional Shelters and Colonies. The shelter was established on February 2, 1898, with the aim of providing primary education and moral upbringing to juvenile offenders (aged 10–15), fostering a love for honest labor, and facilitating their integration after leaving the institution. The analysis covers the composition of the Board (chaired by A.A. Voronin, Prosecutor of the Ryazan District Court), the material and technical base (shoemaking and tailoring workshops, gardening), financial status (capital as of January 1, 1900 – 15,702 rubles, including a major donation of 1,000 rubles from A.A. Voronin), and the admission and study procedures for inmates. Detailed profiles of six inmates are provided (their origin, family background, offenses, and conduct in the shelter), as well as examples of release and subsequent fate. The inmates were divided into three groups according to their behavior. It is concluded that the shelter's activities were successful due to the philanthropic efforts of the provincial intelligentsia and the support of clergy, despite typical problems of provincial institutions: insufficient funding, poverty, and a shortage of qualified personnel.

- Abstract:
- The chapter examines Russia's challenges in the field of education throughout the country's civilizational development. It reveals the process of formation and evolution of the national education system in the context of responding to the challenges of historical time, where the requirements for the quality of education and their continuity at various stages of our country's development are formulated in direct dependence on the country's political, socio-economic, cultural, and educational development. The chapter describes the experience of analyzing the national education system, which has a long history. There are nine civilizational challenges that can be identified in its formation and development. It is noted that the domestic education system was formed and developed as a response to civilizational challenges, depending on the socio-political, socio-economic, and sociocultural processes taking place in the country and around the world.

- Abstract:
- This article examines a little-studied aspect of the work of the Russian poetess Countess Evdokia Petrovna Rostopchina (née Sushkova)—her influence on the cultural and educational environment of the Voronezh province in the 1830s and 1840s. Based on an analysis of biographical data, epistolary heritage, and historical evidence, the author substantiates the thesis that Rostopchina's prolonged residence on her family estate in the village of Anna in the Bobrovsky district, her creative activity, extensive education, and personal example of service to literature contributed to the formation of cultural aspirations among the local nobility and the awakening of interest in education in the provincial community. This article is the first attempt to examine the Rostopchina phenomenon not only from a literary perspective but also from a historical and pedagogical one, emphasizing her role as an informal cultural force in the Voronezh region.

- Abstract:
- The paper analyzes and interprets a comprehensive view of the development of inclusive education in Sweden and Norway. The author states that special education is still an alternative form of education for children with special needs who cannot attend secondary schools in most countries. Thus, the connection between inclusive and special education allows the researcher to draw some parallels between these two types of education in order to trace the transition from one to the other.
