School history education as a means of forming national identity: the experience of the 19th – early 20th centuries and the design of a modern lesson
Book Chapter
Contemporary Educational Technologies: Psychology and Pedagogy- Authors:
- Daniil A. Konev, Olesia G. Karapkova
- Work direction:
- Глава 9
- Abstract:
- The chapter examines the evolution of approaches to forming national identity in Russian school history education from the 19th to the first third of the 20th century and considers how this experience can be used in present-day teaching. Three stages are distinguished: the formation of the state model in the first half of the 19th century; the post-reform period, when the conservative canon coexisted with scholarly and liberal approaches; and the Soviet school, which abandoned history teaching and restored it in 1934. The authors show that, despite opposing ideologies, these models relied on a similar scheme: a single narrative of the past, images of heroes and loyalty to the state. On the basis of the analysis, four principles of history lesson design are formulated, and the structure of a lesson is described in which students draw value-based conclusions independently by comparing sources from different eras. The results and limitations of the initial pilot testing are discussed.

A model of a cross-multidimensional educational process in a secondary school: design and implementation
Book Chapter
Theoretical and practical aspects of pedagogy and psychology- Author:
- Kseniia A. Elistratova
- Work direction:
- Глава 15
- Abstract:
- The chapter substantiates the need for a transition from linear didactic models to multidimensional modeling of the educational process that accounts for the integration of multiple spaces and environments in learning activities. Based on a cross-multidimensional approach (systemic, environmental, ecosystemic, and synergetic levels), the authors have developed an original pedagogical model comprising five blocks: conceptual-target, organizational-managerial, functional, resource-infrastructural, and evaluative-diagnostic. The model is operationalized through mechanisms of space interaction (interpenetration, hybridization, and shifting dominants) and conditions for implementation (teachers' professional readiness, an innovative climate, and the quality of strategic goal-setting). The practical embodiment of the model takes the form of a technological flowchart for a multi-environment lesson.

- Abstract:
- The relevance of the research is due to the objective need for further implementation of the achievements of the theory of problem-based learning in the educational process of secondary school through the development of new, more advanced, technological maps of the English lesson that meet modern conditions and regulatory framework. Based on the analysis of scientific publications, it was revealed that at present there is a lack of practice-oriented methodological recommendations based on the technology of problem-based learning for English lessons in general educational organizations. Studies aimed at introducing problem-based learning in English lessons do not always take into account the specifics of meeting the requirements for the development of the technological map of the lesson, including the provisions of the Federal Educational Program of Basic General Education and the updated requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Basic General Education, which entered into force on September 1, 2022. Therefore, the authors have developed a technological lesson map, which is based on the theory of problem-based learning and includes the most effective components of linguistic and pedagogical models of problem situations. Evaluation of the implementation of the research results according to the methods of E.V. Mukhacheva and L. Michelson proved that the technological map of the English language lesson developed on the basis of problem-based learning in secondary school contributes to the achievement by students of educational results in the academic subject "English" required by the Federal Educational Program of Basic General Education and the Federal State Educational Standard of Basic General Education.

- Abstract:
- The process of forming the motivation to learn as the basis for the effectiveness of the educational process continues to be a relevant object of research. The effectiveness of the learning process is largely determined by the students’ attitude to this process. The purpose of our research was to analyze the effectiveness of project methods using authentic materials to increase the motivation of middle school students to learn a foreign language. The study took place in the gymnasium during the on-the-job training. The experimental group consisted of students who were trained by «English» teaching materials by O. Afanasyeva and I. Mikheeva. In the experimental class the curriculum was supplemented with the application of the project method, game technologies and the use of authentic materials. The preparation of methodological materials for the study consisted of creating a technological map of the lesson and preparing additional materials and handouts for students. The article analyzes the results of the application of the project method with the use of game technologies and authentic materials for the formation of motivation to learn a foreign language at the middle stage of training. The article presents the results of a pedagogical study with an example of creating a technological map of a lesson, recommendations for increasing motivation to learn a foreign language at the middle stage of training. Based on the results of the study, the recommendations to increase motivation to learn a foreign language at the middle stage of education have been developed.
