The military-industrial complex, as a subsystem of the military economy, is actively applying new financial technology tools being developed as part of the digital economy program. Based on the analysis of the use of blockchain and smart contract technologies, the importance of their implementation at enterprises of the military-industrial complex is substantiated.

    Abstract:
    The chapter addresses the challenges of modernization and diversification of the Russian defense-industrial complex amid current geopolitical challenges and sanctions. It analyzes major domestic issues, including the need for innovative development, structural sectoral reforms, and critical vulnerabilities revealed through comparison with Western and Asian strategic competitors. Special attention is given to cooperation with BRICS and Eurasian partners, the development of new technologies, and the creation of flexible production chains. The chapter presents prospects for economic recovery and strengthening national security in the context of global transformations and international competition.
