- Abstract: This scientific article examines the problem of the shadow economy, including its causes, scale and government measures to counter it. The main factors contributing to the development of the shadow economy are analyzed, such as the inefficiency of the tax system, complex bureaucratic procedures, distrust of the state and a high level of regulation. The article examines the experience of Russia and other countries in the fight against the shadow economy, including improving the tax system, controlling business activities and fighting corruption. The issues of the effectiveness of counteraction, international cooperation and the role of education and information campaign are discussed. The study provides an overview of the problem of the shadow economy, which can be useful for developing strategies to combat it and increase economic security.
