    Abstract:
    Непривычная для русского патриархального общества второй половины XVIII в. государственная женская школа непросто завоевывала свои позиции. Опираясь на историко-биографический метод, автор рассматривает механизм укоренения закрытых женских институтов в русской культуре начала XIX в. Прослеживается появление целых династий учивших и учившихся, для которых институты стали подлинной alma mater, делом жизни и даже родным домом.
