    Abstract:
    The article examines certain aspects of the labor activity of the city of Cheboksary during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. Based on the materials of the central organ of the periodical press of the region – the newspaper Krasnaya Chuvashia. The main groups of information characteristic for the formation of the image of the rear city of the Volga region during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 are highlighted.

    Abstract:
    This article explores the transformation of China's media landscape, highlighting the shift from traditional news outlets to the emergence of new media platforms. Historically, news dissemination in China was dominated by state-controlled media organizations, limiting public participation and freedom of expression. However, with the advent of the internet, social media, and online news portals, the Chinese population now has unprecedented access to information and the ability to engage in public discourse. The rapid growth of social media platforms and the rise of online news portals have challenged the traditional notion of news reporting and provided more diverse perspectives. Nonetheless, the government's censorship efforts and control of content raise concerns about freedom of expression. This article concludes by discussing the challenges and opportunities presented by the evolution of media in China.

    Abstract:
    This article is the result of a bibliography-based research about the topic and deals with the construction of reality by the media, how news broadcasting is filtered by various internal mechanisms in order to purify it. These mechanisms contribute essentially to the way the news is spread within society and perceived by it. Ideological and economic interests also have their saying in it. With being the fourth power in a democracy, the media has a lot of influence on public opinion and therefore has the power to influence the outcome and result of elections and other democratic processes directly or indirectly, depending on the political view and agenda the media owners have – or not. Hiding by showing and the infowar mechanisms are debated in this article, as well as the problem of internal filter methods of media outlets concerning the broadcast of news. Additionally, the problem of fake news, distorted news and media (il)literacy within society are discussed as well.

  • The Book Chamber of the Chuvash Republic as the Custodian of the Writing and Ethnic Culture

    Abstract:
    The article reveals the history of the creation and main functions of the Book Chamber of the Chuvash Republic (in 2000–2012 – the State Press Archive), which in 2013 became part of the National Library of the Chuvash Republic. The purpose of the article is to reveal the significance of the Book Chamber of the Chuvash Republic as the main center for collecting and storing printed materials about Chuvashia and the Chuvash people, regardless of the place of publication. On the basis of the chronological method, the role of printed materials in the Chuvash language in the preservation of the ethnic culture of the titular people has been studied. It was revealed that the Book Chambers as institutions with a special legal regime existed in 5 points of the Russian Federation: in Moscow, in the republics of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Karelia. Their funds were used in scientific and publishing developments, preparation of materials for publication and for reprints. At present, the main activities of the Department of the Book Chamber are the acquisition, accounting and preservation of the fund of printed documents; state registration of printed documents in the Chuvash Republic, preparation of state bibliographic and statistical information; information and bibliographic services for users; methodological support of editorial and publishing activities of the mass media, publishing and printing enterprises of the republic; creation of a bibliographic database of articles «Chuvashik»; preparation and publication of the state bibliographic index «Chronicle of the press of the Chuvash Republic».

    The article examines the innovative activity of a teacher of the Higher school on the example of personal practical experience based on working with students in the course of teaching the discipline «News journalism» and «Fundamentals of the creative activity of a journalist». The main problem of modern education is the weak motivation of students to the educational process. Using the methods of assimilation of knowledge based on the cognitive activity, the author comes to the conclusion that the most successful form of teaching is practical classes, which are conducted in the form of interactive.
