The author describes a system of questions and tasks when working with text aimed at developing the cognitive sphere of schoolchildren and implementing a communicative and cognitive method of working with text, which has a powerful developing potential both in the field of linguistic knowledge and in terms of the development of higher mental functions of students.

- The chapter proves that in the conditions of communicatively oriented teaching of the Russian language, it is necessary to form in future language teachers knowledge about the main characteristics of situational modeling technology, about the specifics of its implementation in Russian language classes, and to develop the ability to analyze, design and conduct lessons using this technology. A special course is described aimed at developing competencies in students that allow them to effectively carry out communicatively oriented learning.
