    Abstract:
    The chapter proves the importance of studying regional vocabulary at the lessons of Russian language as a way of familiarizing students with the material and spiritual culture of northerners. The methods and techniques of organizing lexical work are characterized. Examples of regional texts and tasks to them are given. The course of the training session, where the role of dialectisms in the artistic texts about the region is investigated, is described.
