    Abstract:
    The article analyzes the ideals and values of humanitarian education aimed at the formation of the human ideal and maintaining it as an ideal model of humanity, its historical forms are revealed. Crisis phenomena in global educational processes have become the basis for the need to reform the education system. The author believes that the creation of a new educational system that meets the needs of modern society in line with the humanitarization of education presupposes a harmonious combination of education, upbringing and teaching, natural science and humanitarian structures. In this regard, the importance of humanitarization of engineering education is obvious, since it serves as the basis for the holistic personal development of an engineer specialist as a «person of culture».
