    Abstract:
    In this article, the author analyzes the institution of banking licensing in the Russian Federation. The paper examines the licensing procedure of credit institutions, as well as its impact on the banking system of the Russian Federation. In addition, various types of credit institutions and their importance for the financial market are described. The thesis is emphasized that the Central Bank's choice of a specific vector for the development of the banking market should not hinder the entry of new entities into the market and the development of healthy competition.

    The article considers the regulatory and legal provision of economic security of a credit institution, as well as scientific approaches to determining the essence of economic security, and identifies the features of ensuring the economic security of a credit institution. It is concluded that it is necessary to develop adequate methods and mechanisms to ensure the economic security of credit institutions.
