Abstract
A leader is a person who can influence the behavior of other people, take responsibility, consistently go towards achieving specific goals and lead a team. The formation of leadership qualities most effectively occurs in adolescence. The development of leadership in a teenager in a summer recreation camp is a consistent process consisting of a number of stages. Manifestation of leadership qualities is facilitated by a situation that puts the child in a certain attitude to a collective of people. The leader plays an important connecting role between the detachment - the structural unit of the camp - and the counselor.
