Abstract: This scientific article examines the problem of the shadow economy, including its causes, scale and government measures to counter it. The main factors contributing to the development of the shadow economy are analyzed, such as the inefficiency of the tax system, complex bureaucratic procedures, distrust of the state and a high level of regulation.
