This article discusses the use of multimedia technologies in teaching aviation English. Special attention is paid to such key aspects as interactivity, information visualization, variety of formats and access to relevant information. The use of multimedia tools in the process of teaching a foreign language makes it possible to improve the quality of education, make it more interesting and dynamic.

the paper presents the results of an etymological study of the names of Russian military equipment and weapons, based on botanical and floral metaphors. The examples of the use of floral vocabulary in relation to the types of the Russian Federation weaponry and their use in the media are analyzed. The linguistic mechanisms underlying the functioning of this metaphor are analyzed and described.
