Annotation
The article examines the transformation of organizational and methodological approaches to ensuring security at the Olympic Games in the period from 1972 to 1984. Based on the analysis of historical documents, parliamentary reports and scientific research, it is shown that the terrorist attack on the Munich Olympics (1972) became the starting point for the formation of a new model of organizing sports mega-events – the "Olympic fortress".
