  • COMPARATIVE BIOMECHANICAL ANALYSIS OF THE EFFICIENCY OF CLASSICAL BIFASTS AND MONOFASTS IN SPRINTER DISCIPLINES OF UNDERWATER SPORTS

    Work direction:
Актуальные проблемы и тенденции развития студенческого спорта
    Abstract:
The article provides a comparative analysis of two types of propulsion devices — bilast and monofin — from the perspective of coaching practice, which is focused on developing and adjusting athletes’ technique. The study focuses on the differences in the kinematics of the rowing motion: trajectories and amplitudes of the working and preparatory phases when using each type of fin are examined in detail, as well as the biomechanical parameters that determine the efficiency of the impulse. The “cost” of one rowing cycle is analysed in terms of metabolic and mechanical expenditures — in particular, the ratio of the developed thrust to the total energy expenditure of the body. Special attention is paid to the transformation of the motor stereotype when transitioning from separate fins to a monofin: typical adaptive shifts, key points for monitoring technique, and markers of incorrect restructuring of the movement pattern are described. The patterns of the monofin’s speed potential in sprint

    Психолого-педагогические и медико-биологические аспекты спортивной подготовки
    Abstract:
The article examines how a swimmer’s body manages breath‑holding during competitions when wearing fins. It explains why an overwhelming desire to breathe arises, how carbon dioxide and oxygen deficiency affect this, and what psychological skills help the athlete maintain control. Special attention is paid to the current regulatory framework: Federal Law No. 329‑FZ, the rules of the sport “underwater sports” (Order of the Ministry of Sport of Russia No. 979), and the federal standard for sports training (Order No. 1023). It is emphasized that any breathing techniques should only be used under the supervision of a trainer and in compliance with safety measures.

  • MUSCLE ACIDIFICATION IN UNDERWATER SPORTS, WAYS TO OVERCOME IT

    Abstract:
In the article, the authors examine the physiological mechanism of muscle acidification in swimmers using fins over short distances. It explains why muscles become fatigued quickly over distances of 50, 100, and 200 meters due to the accumulation of hydrogen ions, and what nutritional strategies — from carbohydrate loading to buffer supplements — can delay fatigue. Examples from the practice of titled Russian and foreign athletes are provided, along with data from clinical studies. Special attention is paid to the regulatory framework for sports nutrition in Russia, including mandatory labeling with anti‑doping risks.
