    Abstract:
    The authors underline that issues of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility (CSR) are gaining particular importance in Russian society. Large companies actively support education, healthcare, charity, occupational safety, and reduction of environmental damage, which strengthens their brand, partnerships, and talent pool. Despite external economic and geopolitical challenges, the implementation of social projects faces limitations in funding and weak government support. The purpose of the study is to analyze the evolution of corporate social responsibility in Russia. Methods of analyzing theoretical sources, statistics, and comparative analysis of indicators over several years were applied. Key problems were identified: a decrease in the share of social spending in the revenue of large companies, and a decline in the indices "Responsibility and Openness" and "Vector of Sustainable Development" in the electric power, transport, logistics, and telecommunications sectors. To advance CSR, it is proposed to develop a national standard for non-financial reporting, strengthen government support, and foster intersectoral collaboration on global environmental and social challenges.

    Abstract:
    The author emphasizes that amid the global demographic transition of the 2020s, population aging is becoming a defining challenge for the sustainable development of national economies. This chapter examines the impact of changing age structure on labor market performance and long-term economic growth dynamics. The aim of the study is to identify mechanisms for the economic system's adaptation to the increasing share of older age groups and to substantiate strategies for ensuring resilience in the face of a declining working-age population. Labor shortages have been shown to act as a catalyst for accelerated robotization and the implementation of artificial intelligence systems. The integration of age-diversity programs into companies' ESG strategies has been shown to contribute to increased labor productivity. Key risks to long-term GDP associated with declining investment activity and the transformation of consumer demand have been identified. It has been substantiated that economic resilience in the face of an aging population can be achieved not through attempts to artificially «rejuvenate» the workforce, but through the development of a lifelong learning system and the technological substitution of routine operations. The results of the study can be used to adjust state demographic security strategies and corporate talent management policies.

    The chapter proposes a theoretical concept and substantiates the key ideas of integrating ESG principles into the financial mechanism of regional development in order to transition to a sustainable model. Based on an analysis of international practices of green budgeting, the article identifies key ESG risks, assesses their potential impact on the regional budget, and identifies a set of tools for managing public finances and related risks. In the future, it is planned to test the proposed mechanism and evaluate its impact on economic growth at the sub-federal level.

    Abstract:
    The instability of the current macroeconomic environment necessitates the development of specific approaches to managing the regional socioeconomic system, which highlights the importance of identifying its characteristics, conditions of formation, and development. The study used a methodological approach based on system analysis to reveal the essence of the regional socio-economic system. Methods of analysis, synthesis, and scientific abstraction were applied to determine the qualitative characteristics and formulate the author's definitions of the concepts under study. It was concluded that the most important systemic quality of the regional socio-economic system is its resilience, which allows it to adapt to changes and lay the foundation for its further development and the development of the macro-system as a whole. In order to achieve sustainable development of the Russian Federation, it is necessary to effectively use internal resources and involve innovative technologies in the reproduction process, in accordance with the trends of global economic development.

    The chapter examines key systemic contradictions in the financial support of regional development under contemporary conditions, including the impact of geopolitical changes and sanction pressures on financial flows and instruments. It analyzes the formation, allocation, and effective use of budgetary resources at the regional level amid current economic challenges. Special attention is given to financial regulation mechanisms, risks, and constraints hindering balanced regional development. The chapter proposes ways to improve financial policy to enhance the resilience and balance of regional growth, as well as the integration of innovative financial instruments into regional financial management. A systemic approach is employed, combining material, procedural, and managerial components of financial support. Strategic objectives and mechanisms for their realization are analyzed to increase financial support effectiveness.

    Abstract:
    The rationale for the practical implementation of the principles of the sustainable development concept at the level of economic entities is due to the fact that they are not yet mandatory for enterprises and organizations in the Russian Federation. Unlike at the national level, the application of the sustainable development concept at the level of economic entities remains a desirable but not mandatory component of their activities. Based on the use of general scientific theoretical methods of cognition (analysis, synthesis, generalization, induction, deduction, etc.), the study has formed a holistic understanding of the implementation of the principles of sustainable development in the activities of economic entities, and has also attempted to provide a theoretical justification for certain aspects of the organization of economic entities' activities in accordance with the concept of sustainable development. Unlike existing approaches to analyzing the activities of economic entities in implementing the principles of sustainable development, the authors propose considering social and environmental activities in an inseparable connection with production activities. Since it is the scale of production activities and their effectiveness that determine the content of social and environmental activities, as well as the capabilities of economic entities to carry them out. In accordance with this, an attempt has been made to determine the minimum boundaries of social and environmental activities from the perspective of ensuring sustainable development of economic entities, as well as the possibilities for expanding them.

    The article examines the features of agrarian relations that existed in ancient Rome. Their impact on modern agricultural practices is analyzed. The authors consider key aspects such as the land tenure system, labor relations between peasants and landowners, and the influence of the state on agricultural production. The article also considers examples of successful practices borrowed from Roman model approaches that can serve as a basis for innovative solutions in modern agricultural systems. The conclusion includes recommendations for agricultural policy based on historical experience, which can contribute to improving practices in the context of a changing climate and globalization.

    Abstract:
    Ensuring environmental safety is a priority task for all countries. Sustainable development of the state, high quality of life and health of its population can be ensured provided that high quality of the environment is maintained. In Russia, the scale of pollution by production and consumption waste has reached a critical level, posing a serious threat to national environmental security. Large industrial regions of the country face the most serious environmental problems. The purpose of the study is to study regional problems of ensuring environmental safety. In the chapteruses such research methods as analysis of theoretical sources, study of official statistics, comparative analysis. The indicators characterizing the state of the environment of the Sverdlovsk region for 2021–2023 were analyzed. It was concluded that according to the National Environmental Rating in 2023 (autumn rating), the region was in last place, i.e. it was the worst region in the country in terms of environmental indicators. Despite the improvement of certain indicators for 2021–2023 (reduction in the volume of generated waste, the share of the population in cities with high levels of air pollution, discharge of polluted wastewater, etc.), the level of pollution of the atmosphere, water resources and soils in the region is very high. Success in solving environmental problems in the region largely depends on the implementation of an integrated approach, including economic (increased investment in environmental projects), social (increased environmental literacy of the population) and technological changes (digitalization and modernization of industry).

    The chapter is devoted to the study of the environmental advantages of rural areas in comparison with urban areas, as well as the analysis of key challenges and opportunities for sustainable rural development. The study uses a comparative approach to assess the environmental situation in urban and rural areas, taking into account the historical, social and economic aspects that shape the state of the environment. Special emphasis is placed on the concepts of rational use of natural resources and sustainable development, which offer effective ways to overcome environmental problems. Among such solutions are the introduction of organic farming, the development of environmentally sound technologies and an increase in the level of environmental awareness among the population. It is concluded that there is a need to move to a new economic paradigm based on the principles of sustainable development, which will preserve natural resources for future generations and improve the quality of life in rural areas.

    The study focuses on the demand for marketing tools in modern conditions in managing the development of problematic territorial-administrative entities of Russia. Despite the increase in the number of studies of individual aspects of territorial marketing (image, destinations), there is a lack of a comprehensive approach to solving the problem of optimizing the structure of the economy and ensuring sustainable development of small towns in Russia.     It has been established that the paradigm of sustainable regional development is a process occurring over time, consisting of a sequence of positive changes that entail an increase in the harmony and balance of the social, economic and environmental aspects of such development, and aimed at solving problems that exist within the life of the regions. The sustainable development of the region is considered from the perspective of a systems approach, as a result of which it is concluded that the definition of “sustainable development of the region” is directly related to such a key property inherent in any socio-economic systems as the preservation of organizational and functional integrity under the influence of external and internal negative factors.

    The author seeks to expand existing theoretical knowledge and suggest the author's definition of "sustainability" in relation to the consumer cooperation system based on a literary review. Despite the fact that other reviews present a significant number of aspects and characteristics related to sustainability, this study examines additional substantive characteristics, such as digitalization in the field of cooperative graduate education, and the competitive advantages of consumer cooperation. Based on the study of the consumer cooperation sustainability, all the cooperative advantages are combined into multilevel systemic aspects and the most significant for the sustainable development of cooperation are distinguished. The author proposes scientific and methodological approach, which consists in considering the types of sustainability and systematization of indicators for its assessment using system analysis.

The objective of the study is to identify the achieved results of digital transformation and technological development of industrial enterprises in Russia, to find methods to improve the management of sustainable development of industrial enterprises in order to maximise the benefit from the use of digital solutions.     The sustainability of the agri-food system is key to long-term food security. The objective of this study is to identify factors that can hinder the achievement of sustainability of the agri-food system and to determine the most important prospects for its development. The research methodology is based on the use of general scientific and special methods, among which is the method of standardizing indicative indicators of food security, based on calculating the deviation of actual values from their threshold values. The object of study is the agri-food system of the Republic of Mordovia. The study identifies key limitations to the sustainability of the region’s agri-food system, including the unsatisfactory state of fixed assets, insufficient innovative activity of the republic’s agricultural producers, and the complicated situation with food waste processing. Measures to neutralize these threats have been proposed, primarily in the field of digitalization of the industry.

    The creation of added value in early industrialized countries is currently defined by the transition to the fourth stage of industrialization, known as Industry 4.0. This development follows the third industrial revolution, which began in the early 1970s and relied on electronics and information technologies to achieve a high level of production automation. If information was the main element in the production function of post-industrial economies, then data is the key element in Industry 4.0. Industry 4.0 is characterized by the use of digital technologies, 'smart' concepts, ensuring continuous connectivity among all process participants, efficiency, and adherence to principles of sustainable development.
