- Abstract:
- The chapter presents a comparative analysis of the level of formation of self-care skills in preschool children with autism spectrum disorders. Theoretical approaches to the study of the specifics of the formation of domestic independence in children with ASD in the context of their intellectual development are considered. Special attention is paid to the differentiation of children by the presence or absence of concomitant intellectual disabilities. An empirical study conducted on the basis of a preschool educational institution revealed statistically significant differences in the deficit profiles of two groups. The results demonstrate the need to develop differentiated corrective routes: for children with intellectual disabilities, the focus is on the formation of basic algorithms with physical assistance, for children with preserved intelligence – on automation of skills and self-control.

The purpose of the study is to justify the significance of the child's individual motivational profile in the course of PECS training. The methodological basis was made up of a content analysis of domestic and foreign studies, a comparative analysis of PECS application protocols, as well as modeling a motivational-adaptive reinforcement selection algorithm. Ideas about the nature of undesirable behavior are summarized, the role of motivation in initiating a communicative act

- Abstract:
- This chapter presents an analysis of the concept of childhood autism and examines theoretical approaches to the study of the specifics of the formation of self-service skills in preschool children suffering from autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Mastering self-service skills such as dressing, hygiene procedures, independent eating and toilet skills represent a key stage in a child's ontogenesis. These skills provide independence, boost self-esteem, and promote successful socialization. Theoretical analysis of the work proves that in children with ASD, the process of forming these skills is associated with certain difficulties due to developmental features, including difficulties in understanding verbal instructions, planning and implementing sequential actions, as well as increased sensory sensitivity.
