- Abstract:
- This article examines the age-related dynamics of academic motivation in students aged 10–17 in a modern school setting. The relevance of the study stems from the persistent decline in academic motivation during basic general education, despite the recognition of academic motivation as a key factor in success and personal development. The aim of the study was to identify characteristics and statistically significant differences in the structure of academic motivation among students at three levels of general education: primary (10–11 years old), middle (12–15 years old), and high school (16–17 years old). Ninety-nine students participated in the study. For diagnostics, the method of studying educational motivation by A.K. Makarova and N.V. Kontseva was used, which allows for the assessment of external motivation, cognitive motives, communicative motives and motivation for self-development, as well as the general level of motivation.
