  • On the Issue of Ethnic and Civic Identity of University Students

    Abstract:
    The article is devoted to the study of the issue of ethnic and civic identity of student youth, the education of a culture of interethnic relations in an educational institution. The article presents an analysis of the literature on the problem under consideration, considers state approaches to solving issues of ethnicity and citizenship. The relevance of the study is due to the reasons that require a timely response to the changes taking place in the modern multi-ethnic space. The multinationality of the Russian Federation, the ambiguity of historically established interethnic relations, the active development in the minds of modern youth of attitudes not only towards material, but also spiritual globalization, allow us to pay special attention to the process of forming ethnic and civic identity of the individual. The purpose of the article is to study the features of the formation of ethnic and civic identity and to identify their relationship in the student environment. The author cites the results of his own empirical studies of the general civic and ethnic identity of university students. The use of the methods of questioning, interviewing, observation and generalization of pedagogical experience helped the author in determining the main directions of ethno-cultural education of students. Ethnic identity is a necessary step in the formation of citizenship of student youth, it makes it easier and faster to interact with representatives of other ethnic groups, unites and helps to adapt to new cultural conditions.

    Abstract:
    The problem of increasing motivation in learning finds it is place in any subject. An important point in the learning environment is that motivation is a means of increasing the effectiveness of any learning activity, which is also reflected in the study of the Kyrgyz language. We will consider various ways, techniques and methods as a means of increasing educational motivation when learning Kyrgyz language. Turning to the students' own goals and needs, considering motivation as an element of the objective world of the individual, it is important to understand that teachers can only indirectly influence it, create needs and conditions based on interests. Therefore, touching on these beliefs, the article also puts forward such ways in which the people themselves, who learn the language, can independently increase their own motivation to learn Kyrgyz to maintain the effectiveness of learning, for this, the basic rules are presented, with the help of which you can independently formulate your goals correctly. After all, it is precisely the correctly formulated goal that is the core for further maintaining motivation, as well as the initial foundation in any development of the business.     The study is devoted to the study of the structure of the interconnections of the components of the "I" -image of students with the various mental states they experience in the context of studying at a university. Students determined the severity of the components of the "I" -image in three time continua - in the past (1st year), in the present (3rd year), in the future (4th year). They also determined the frequency of occurrence of mental states during the first two years of study using a special questionnaire. Then a correlation analysis was carried out, which made it possible to find relationships with a high level of reliability between the components of the "I" -image of students and some mental states experienced in two educational situations, which differ qualitatively depending on the time continuum.     Summary. The article is devoted to the study of the relevant issue in today’s world – the study of theoretical premises of modern concepts of ethno-national education. It examines the problems of educating the culture of interethnic relations in the youth environment. The relevance of the study is due to the need for the formation of attitudes towards interethnic tolerance among students, which determines the goal of the educational activities of each educational institution. The purpose of the article is to consider the theoretical foundations of ethno-national education and the possibilities of their practical application in educational work with students of a higher educational institution. The work was carried out at the empirical level of the structure of sociological knowledge. Methods of observation, questioning, interviewing and generalization of pedagogical experience allowed the author to determine the direction of work in the field of ethnic education of students. Based on the research carried out, the author draws conclusions about the quality of work in the field of ethno-national education of students at the university and offers recommendations for its improvement. The study showed predominantly supra-ethnic self-awareness of young people. Another unusual result of the study is a small percentage of students who speak their native (non-Russian) language – only 20 percent of the respondents. It is proposed that the parameters set require the pursuance of bigger researches on a nationwide scale.
