- The article considers the results of research work on the study and analysis of the current state of motivation for professional activity and professional development of teachers of Saint Petersburg state budgetary educational institutions of general education. Recommendations for improving the activity of educational institutions in the field of formation of teachers' motivation are outlined. The necessity of organizing purposeful, systemic work on the formation of internal motivation of professional activity and professional development among teachers is substantiated.
