The foundation of successful functioning of organizations is their business activity. The results of the business analysis are used to establish reasonable targets and opportunities for development of key economic indicators. - The article defines the role of entrepreneurship in the socio-economic life of the country, examines the main problems of the development of Russian small and medium-sized enterprises, and suggests ways to develop them under the conditions of economic sanctions of Western states and macroeconomic instability of the national economy. It is concluded that in order to increase the share of small and medium-sized enterprises in Russia's GDP, it is necessary to involve them in all spheres of activity and strengthen their qualitative component. And in order to increase the effectiveness of measures taken by the state in relation to SMEs, it is necessary to improve the legislative framework and review ongoing national projects taking into account changing conditions.

The core of this revitalization is innovation activity. Innovations permeate all types of society's activities and are the main factor and incentive for the development and competitiveness of the country. The Russian economy has a high innovation potential, but the level of application of this potential and mastering of innovation processes is still not high enough. Innovation management is perceived by many specialists with distrust, which makes it difficult to choose a development path for the growth of innovation activity. In enterprises focused on the creation and implementation of innovations, this problem is very relevant. The study of the essence of innovative enterprises, the peculiarities of their functioning will improve the quality of their management, and, consequently, will increase the level of economic development.

- The chapter discusses the managerial aspects of the development of new technologies at enterprises of the Russian defense industry in the digital economy. The relevance of the study is determined by several circumstances. Firstly, it is the market of anti-UAVs that has been studied to a lesser extent than the UAVs themselves. Drones, both as a military solution and as civil technologies, are currently in the focus of attention of the scientific and professional community. At the same time, systems aimed at countering UAVs do not receive due attention. Secondly, for military-technical cooperation of the Russian Federation, the market of anti-UAVS is of great interest: since UAVs themselves are being adopted almost everywhere, it can be expected that in the near future the market will require appropriate solutions aimed at countering these systems. Thirdly, the international arms market itself is in a constant state of change, and these changes should receive proper scientific assessment.

- The article touches on the fact that for a long time, engineers designing products had no information about how those products then performed in real life. For them, the products were sent like «to the dark side of the moon». Managing the complete life cycle of a product from idea to decommissioning remained an idea from the realm of science fiction. Now everything has changed. Industrial enterprises introduced the technology concept of a «digital twin», a computer image corresponding to a specific physical product. From now on, if a product is equipped with sensors (at the design stage or during modernization), it is possible to organize a full-fledged feedback loop. The product will collect data from the real world and transmit it to the digital world.

- Consideration from critical positions of numerous researches and scientific and methodical works of scientists and experts in the field of innovative activity revealed the fact that among the least studied problems can be attributed to the effect of innovations and innovations. The purpose of this study is the theoretical justification and methodological solution of the complex issues of innovation effect. There are several reasons for this. At least five of them can be formulated as follows: first, there are no large-scale studies on the cycle of effects on the stages of the innovation process. There are practically no theoretically verified methods of calculating the value of the effect; secondly, in the scientific economic literature prevails one-sided view of the competitive relationship between the subjects of innovation. The system of specific communications, which is built on the basis of the effect of innovation and includes both competition and cooperation, is not taken into account; thirdly, there is a small share of research and, as a result, there is still little known about the mechanisms of diffusion of innovation, the ratio of creativity and imitation in the absence of a quantitative assessment of the effect of innovation; fourth, there is no clear understanding of the forms of relationships between certain types of innovation effect and the competitiveness of goods and enterprises; fifth, the experience of functioning of developed countries in the conditions of innovative type of economy shows that economic knowledge should become qualitatively different, oriented to a new idea of innovation not as a goal, but as a means of enterprise development in a market economy. The paper uses General scientific methods of cognition: induction, deduction, synthesis, methods of comparative, multifactorial, functional and situational analysis, statistical groupings and expert-analytical methods.

- The article presents a comparative analysis of the nature and content of the concepts of risk and business reputation of the organization. The factors that may affect the process of digitalization of the economy in Russia are identified. The relationship between digitalization of the economy and the business reputation of industrial companies is defined. The refined definition of risk suggests considering risk as an economic phenomenon, which is an integral element of all socio-economic processes that occur in the organization, and is able to lead the system out of balance and, consequently, either improve its performance, or lead to undesirable losses, or destroy. The complete concept of business reputation is that it defines it as a stable representation in the minds of contractors of the organization (consumers, government agencies, suppliers, commercial banks) about the good faith of the fulfillment of its obligations, a high level of quality of the products of the efficiency of the implementation of business contracts. The interrelation between increase in business reputation and growth of competitiveness of the industrial organizations is shown. The quantitative index for assessing the level of goodwill by the dynamics of the revealed violations of the organizations in the industry is proposed. The dynamics of this indicator of industrial organizations of the Russian Federation in 2011–2017 is investigated. Such directions of reducing the risk of business reputation of the industrial organization of the Russian Federation as the development of tools for motivating personnel, the intensification of the use of professional psychological assistance for employees and management of industrial companies, the movement of their business reputation in social networks, the improvement of PR-companies of industrial enterprises, the development of self-regulatory organizations of the industry and the intensification of their activities in the management of the process of ensuring business reputation are revealed. The necessity of formation of independent qualified ratings of business reputation of domestic industrial companies formed in the context of sub-sectors of a particular sector of the economy and regions of the Russian Federation is shown.
