  • Features of the perception of family relationships by younger schoolchildren (longitudinal study)

    Abstract:
    The chapter presents the results of a four-year longitudinal study of primary school children’s perceptions of family relationships and their place within the family. The study involved 40 children (20 boys and 20 girls), and the composition of the sample remained unchanged throughout the study. The Family Drawing technique was used to examine children’s representations of their families. The analysis focused on the depiction of the self-figure and significant adults, the spatial proximity of family members, the omission of individual family members from the drawings, and changes in these indicators over the primary school years. Changes in children’s subjective perceptions of their position within the family system and their emotional closeness to significant adults were analyzed. Changes in family circumstances, including the birth of siblings and parental divorce, were reflected in the content and composition of the drawings. The findings may be used by educational psychologists when analyzing the family context of primary school children’s psychological well-being.

    В связи с тем, что семья является важнейшим социальным институтом, который играет важную роль в обеспечении функционирования общества, увеличивается число семей, нуждающихся в психологической поддержке и консультировании. В первую очередь это касается неполных семей, то есть тех семей, где ребёнок воспитывается одним родителем. Данная работа посвящена выявлению отклонений детско-родительских отношений в неполных семьях дошкольников и продуцированию дальнейших шагов по их корректировке.
