- The article deals with the aspects of hermeneutic approach in the method of working on the text with middle-level students. The problem of understanding has always been Central not only in linguistics but also in philosophy, while Philology distinguishes three types of understanding: semantic, cognitive and distributive. The main thing in the method described by the authors is a test that acts not as a basis for learning, but as an object of understanding, and the language is perceived not as a system of signs, but as our cultural and historical heritage as a whole.
