    Abstract:
    The article considers changes in the activities of the People's Commissariat of Education of the Chuvash Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic during the Great Patriotic War compared to the pre-war period. The author considers personnel reductions in the apparatus of the People's Commissariat in the initial period of the war, distinguishes new areas of activity.
