    Abstract:
    The article describes a methodology for solving applied and creative tasks in the course of studying graphic disciplines in order to activate independent work. A general plan for solving applied and creative tasks is presented. A concrete example of solving the same graphical problem in classical and applied formulations is considered. It is revealed that the creative formulation of a graphic problem increases the motivation for studying descriptive geometry, and, consequently, activates the process of independent work of students.
