The article presents the results of a study of ideas about a socially active personality among university students. Based on the characteristics of the three components of social ideas, it was concluded that there are a number of contradictions in ideas, the most significant of which are the contradictions between a positive assessment of the result of prosocial activity and negativism towards the self-realization of the individual in it.
