- Abstract:
- The purpose of this study was to assess the content validity of the multiple-choice Financial Accounting Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) tests given by the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB), West African Examinations Council (WAEC), and National Examinations Council (NECO). It primarily assessed how well the test items represented the taxonomy and subject matter of the foundational Financial Accounting program. The 2020 exam items were used as the sample, and the population consisted of all SSCE multiple-choice Financial Accounting question papers from WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB. The study was led by a single hypothesis and thee research questions. The main tools for gathering data were the SSCE exam papers and the Financial Accounting curriculum. To ascertain content validity, 160 multiple-choice questions were examined using the coefficient of validity and percentage difference. The findings showed that WAEC (0.80), NECO (0.78), and NABTEB (0.79) had good validity indices, with WAEC having the highest coefficient. Findings, however, showed that several subjects, such "Introduction to Accounting" and "Branch Account", were either under-represented or completely left out, indicating disparities in topic representation.

The first pedologists of the Chuvash Republic and their experience in the study of Chuvash children
Review ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 6 No 3- Authors:
- Nataliya Y. Stoyukhina, Daniil V. Mironov
- Work direction:
- Ethno-Cultural Problems of Education
- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to the study of the activities of pedologists of the Chuvash ASSR and aims to analyze the historically first study devoted to the intelligence of Chuvash children. The study is based on the publications of the first pedologists from Chuvashia F. P. Petrov and M. E. Efimov. In accordance with the historical and psychological methods described by V. A. Koltsova, the work uses problematic and source study methods. The study is written in the aspect of the history of pedagogy. A graduate student of the Kazan Oriental Pedagogical Institute, F. P. Petrov with a team of students, for the first time carried out a comprehensive study of the intellectual development of Chuvash children using the Binet-Simon test method, widely known among Soviet pedologists. At first, pedologists took the test method in Russian, then it was translated into the Chuvash language with appropriate text changes in relation to the everyday and speech characteristics of the Chuvash. The result of the study was the book published in Cheboksary, "The experience of studying the intellectual development of Chuvash children using the Binet-Simon method", published in 1928. The book caused serious objections from the head of the pedological office at the Chuvash Scientific Research Institute M. E. Efimov; he believed that the author was biased against Chuvash children and violated the methodological principle of making tests. The correspondence polemic between two Chuvash pedologists about the measurement of children’s intelligence, along with similar cases in the country’s republics, prompted L. S. Vygotsky to call for an understanding of the problems of national pedology, with its leading problem – the measurement of intelligence.

- Abstract:
- The relevance of the research is due to the increasing use of the Internet and the lack of reliable information about the Internet exposure on higher mental functions of the users of different age. The aim of the study is to detect the short-term effect of the Internet use on indirect memorization in adults. The study has been conducted in terms of intraindividual quasi-experiment, that assessed the accuracy of memorization in two conditions: traditional reading (a book), web-search (a mobile phone). The pictogram test in the author’s variant was the main tool to assess the memory of adults. The research was held among teachers during classes of training courses (n=50; 12 males, 38 females; average age 44,56±4,11). To implement a scheme of a positionally equalized sequence of sampling, the sample was divided into 2 groups. In the results, one third of the sample showed the same level of accuracy in memorizing words in different conditions. Most of the participants demonstrated positive trends while reading (р≤0,01). While the number of mistakes was three times more for the web-search.

The Sacred Nature of White Stone in the Temple Construction of Andrey Bogolyubsky
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 3 No 3- Author:
- Alexandr I. Skvortsov
- Work direction:
- Ethnography, Ethnology and Anthropology
- Abstract:
- The article deals with the issues of the sudden appearance of white-stone construction in the middle of the XII century in the North-East of Russia, in the Vladimir Principality, which are practically not affected by science. The purpose of the study is to identify the most likely sources that influenced the process of origin and formation of the unique style of Vladimir-Suzdal architecture during the reign of Andrei Bogolyubsky (1157–1177). The research methods were reduced not only to the analysis of the Old Testament texts, with which the Great Vladimir Prince was well acquainted and admired their heroes during the construction of his white-stone churches, but also to the identification of the peculiarity of the current situation, individual facts of the prince's activity and the nature of his character, which became an active incentive to the introduction of white stone instead of bricks, which took a sacred character for Andrey Bogolyubsky. The result of the study is as follows: first, the symbolism of the white color, drawn from the biblical testaments of the consubstantial God, became the leitmotif for the architectural creations of the Vladimir prince; second, the perceived Old Testament building traditions stimulated the growth of original forms of Vladimir-Suzdal white stone architecture, which have no close analogies in the entire area of neighboring countries. In the light of the current inclusion of white stone buildings in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, the aspect of their study not only brings scientific novelty to the already established interpretation, but also entails a rethinking of the practical orientation of restoration and restoration work on them.

- Abstract:
- The purpose of the article is the solution of the problem of activating the intelligence of students, it seems especially relevant as an innovative technological stage that promotes young chess players to a higher level of realization of creative inclinations and abilities, intellectual potential. The following methods are used in the learning process: observation, testing, conversation, game methods, methods for solving chess problems, writing games, designing and solving original chess problems, modern information technologies, participation in competitions, including the Internet competitions, viewing and analyzing the content of chess games, participation in tournaments and competitions, P. Torrens creativity test «Finish a painting». Results. The Torrence test, conducted at the beginning and at the end of the study, determined the effectiveness of the experiment. We got a result that differs from the initial one: if the number of children with a low level was 27%, then at the final stage up to 19%, some of them moved to the middle level, some went to the group with a high level. The number of students with a high level at the beginning – 12%, at the end of the experiment – 21%. Conclusions. The intellectual activity of younger schoolchildren in the process of learning to play chess suggests that the student demonstrates the ability to break from the traditional solution and type of tasks to another type of tasks – original, non-standard, having a different proof algorithm, significantly improves the quality of training of young chess players, activates mental activity. The main thing is the active internal activity of the child himself, the realization of intellectual abilities, the development of inclinations, their transformation into intellectual abilities, unconventional, contradictory, creative thinking, the presence of a life goal to achieve chess heights, which determines his further own nature of activity.

- Abstract:
- The paper considers the methodology of individualization of training based on adaptive testing of network electronic educational and methodological complexes in two closely interrelated levels – the methodology of designing, developing adaptive tools and the methodology of their application in teaching university students. The design of an adaptive network electronic educational and methodological complex – a universal educational resource that is able to support the learning process at all its stages-contains three consecutive stages (levels) – didactic, logical and physical, each of which has a content component of the developer's activity that determines the requirements for the structure and content of the created course. The methodological approaches to the use of an adaptive network course in the educational process are different for teachers and students. As criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of learning content assimilation in the information and communication educational environment of the university, the following are defined: transient process time response, which a student spends for learning of fixed stream of input information until prepared for the testing (E.A. Solodova's adaptive learning mathematical model); the level of assimilation of the information received, defined in tests and evaluated in a 100-point scale (as the condition of completeness of the educational process, according to V.P. Bespalko).

German Packaging for Russian Novel: on the Problem of the Genre of the “Fiery Angel” by V. Bryusov
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 3 No 2- Author:
- Eduard O. Krank
- Work direction:
- Languages of the Nations of the World
- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to the problem of the genre of V. Bryusov’s novel “The Fiery Angel”. The purpose of the article is to assert that the author uses the tradition of the medieval German novel in a stylized capacity. Bryusov needs the method of literary mystification not so much to hide relationships of real people who served as prototypes for the heroes of the novel, but to establish an allusive cultural connection between Germany in the era of M. Luther and the “Silver Age” of Russian literature, with its interest in issues of religion and gender. The relevance of the study dictated by the attention of the modern reader to the literature of the “Silver Age”, as well as a special interest in metamorphoses that the novel genre undergoes in the era of modernism and postmodernism. The research materials are the text of the novel, biographical information related to the personalities of prototypes, reviews of literary criticism, as well as literary studies. We use descriptive, hermeneutic, synchronic, diachronic, historical-genetic, comparative, analytical and biographical methods in this work. The results of the study and their discussion consist in reflection on the paradigm in defining the genre of the novel, in pointing out the tradition of literary mystification, which rises to the “Belkin’s Tales” by A. Pushkin. Also important is the circumstances that the religious searches inherent in the prototypes of the heroes of the novel are akin to Protestant moods of the Reformation. As a result, we conclude that the author, because of the anthropological unity of the archetypal situation, continued the literary tradition of the German Middle Ages. It is laid down in the basis of the plots of both V. Bryusov’s novel and the first part of “Faust” by I.W. Goethe, as well as A. Belyi’s novel “Petersburg”, in which the love triangle invariant and its transformation from prototypes to characters is represented by the same mechanism as is characteristic of the “Fiery Angel”. The assertion of this way of implementing a behavioral scheme (anthropological invariant) in the process of transforming prototypes into characters is the innovation of our work.

Therefore, it is actual to determine the level of knowledge of this problem worldwide and its effective use in psychological activity. To solve this problem, the world scientific literature and information resources of the Internet were studied by the method of literary analysis. As a result, it was noted that in the field of psychology of the CIS countries, there are two types of abilities, namely general and special abilities. In the United States, the Taxonomy of Human Abilities was developed by E.A. Fleishman, which includes 52 types of abilities in four classes: cognitive, psychomotor, physical, and sensory. There is a clear definition of each ability, and currently in Uzbekistan, psychometric tests diagnosing 14 types of cognitive abilities have been adapted and standardized.
