- Abstract:
- Fundamental analysis, traditionally used to evaluate individual companies, needs to be rethought in the context of modern complex business ecosystems. The authors explore the transformation of fundamental analysis methods necessary for an adequate assessment of companies whose value and viability are closely linked to their position in the ecosystem, analyze the limitations of traditional approaches and propose an expanded methodology that takes into account network effects, interdependencies between ecosystem participants, as well as the impact of external factors such as regulation and technological change. The chapter aims to identify key indicators that are characteristic of the ecosystem approach and should be included in the traditional fundamental analysis. The aim of the work is to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of such an integrated approach to improve the accuracy and validity of assessing the value of companies in the context of ecosystem development. As a result, a new business valuation framework is proposed that provides a more complete and accurate view of the value of companies in today's ecosystem-based economy.

Strategies of Translating Phraseological Units (on the Interview of Vladimir Putin to Tucker Carlson)
Research Article
Ethnic Culture Volume 6 No 2- Authors:
- Yulia Y. Klykova, Irina Y. Shachkova
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to the analysis of the functioning of linguistic units in socio-political texts. The authors of the article are interested in studying phraseological units in political discourse. Phraseologisms as a means of expressing expressiveness and implementing the pragmatic function of language are used by politicians to influence public and personal consciousness and, in some cases, to agitate for action. The aim of the research is to determine the strategies of translating phraseological units used by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in his interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson. In order to achieve this aim we conducted a comparative analysis of the most frequent ways of translating fixed phrases from Russian into English, and we also analysed the problems faced by simultaneous interpreters while translating them. The research was performed by the random sampling technique along with descriptive analysis and contextual interpretation methods. As a result of the analysis, we can make a conclusion that Vladimir Putin’s speech is characterized by national cultural features, abundant use of metaphors, phraseological units and occasional phraseologisms. At the same time, we have identified the most common strategy of translating phraseological units – the phraseological analogy, which makes it possible to identify translation equivalents that are different in form and image, but similar in content and meaning for the recipient culture.

- Globalization on the one hand and border closure on the other hand spur communication process participants in all areas of human activities and especially young researchers into foreign language learning which is currently focused on foreign professionally-oriented texts. Traditional methods of teaching a foreign language based on grammatical approach are not effective in solving the problem of language competence development when working with professionally-oriented texts. The objective of this work is to assess the effectiveness of the method of legal texts concept analysis using a technique of metacognitive strategies in reading activity. Several groups of law students, Southwest State University (Kursk, Russia) took part in the experiment based on the above-mentioned method. Students performed both conventional (skimming, key words finding) and specially developed tasks (constructing a text compositional structure model, plotting a text graphical representation, etc.). Original criteria were used to evaluate the performance. The experiment showed a persistent significant difference in learning indicators and students’ behaviour in the control and experimental groups. The technique contributed to the development and enhancement of students’ skills improving their foreign language competence. The obtained skills facilitated communication and contributed to students’ satisfaction with the learning process, increased their creative and professional potential, students’ sustainable intrinsic motivation.

- Abstract:
- The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between the use of reading strategies and reading achievement between high and low EFL university students in Ethiopia. To this effect, sixty students were selected (30 top high achievers and 30 least low achievers) using stratified sampling technique. The Survey of Reading Strategies and Reading Comprehension Test were employed to discover students’ reading strategy use, and to measure their reading ability respectively. Thus, thirty reading strategies of the survey and fifty reading comprehension questions were administered to students. The data gathered was statistically analyzed through descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test and Pearson correlation. The findings of the study revealed that High achievers adopted a diverse and more reading strategies in higher frequency compared to low achievers. This difference between the groups was significant. The result also showed that there was a relationship between students’ three main strategies use (i.e., global, problem-solving and support reading strategies and their reading achievement). Based on the findings, it was recommended to raise awareness to enhance students' use of various strategies at higher frequency and the low achievers must be encouraged to use the reading strategies more frequently in general and global reading strategies in particular.

- Глава 1
- Abstract:
- Among the main directions of Russia's transition to sustainable development is the formation of an effective system for promoting the ideas of sustainable development and the creation of an appropriate system of upbringing and education. At the heart of any civilization is education – the transfer to subsequent generations of acquired experience and knowledge, cultural and moral values. To overcome the global ecological crisis in which mankind found itself at the beginning of the 21st century, it is necessary to develop the principles of the relationship between man and nature. In this regard, education for sustainable development is of great importance. To study this problem, sociological methods were used – quantitative surveys, analysis of normative documentation, meaningful analysis of plans and reports of authorities. The results of the study showed the presence of two trends in education for sustainable development, the basis of which is environmental education at all levels of the education system in Russian society: one trend is the curtailment at the federal level, the second is attention to environmental education in certain regions of the country, especially where environmental the situation is the most difficult.

Study the Effects of Differentiated Instruction on English Grammar Teaching in Ethiopia
Research Article
Development of education Volume 5 No 3- Authors:
- Yirgalem G. Melka, Italo B. Jatta
- Work direction:
- Pedagogy and Modern Education
- Abstract:
- The purpose of the current study was to explore the effects of differentiated instruction, a neglected instructional practice in the Ethiopia in the EFL class in the contemporary diverse classroom situations. To achieve this purpose, the study adopted the quasi-experimental study design and randomly selected two intact classes consisting of 84 grade 12 students (CG:43, EG:41) and pre-tested to prove the comparability of the students’ grammar learning achievement. Relevant quantitative data were gathered using an English grammar learning achievement test. The intervention lasted for 12 consecutive weeks from October 2022 through early January 2022. The experimental group was taught using flexible grouping, tiered instructions, scaffolding techniques, and anchored activities as differentiated instructional strategies while the control group was taught English grammar following the one-size-fits-all conventional approach that hardly addresses or neglects students’ diverse learning needs. This group was taught a similar language focus using only textbook-provided activities. The quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS, version 24 software. Confirming the normality of the quantitative data, the independent t-test and dependent t-test were used in analyzing the pre-test and post-test data, but the qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. The findings of the study indicated that the overall mean gains for the experimental group significantly differed from the corresponding comparison group’s post-test test mean gains. The within-group comparison also showed that the post-test results of the experimental group were significantly different from the pretest results. The calculated effect size for the dependent t-test and independent t-tests were found to be moderate and large. The effect size for the treatment group exposed to differentiated instructions revealed meaningful improvement in the students’ English grammar learning. In light of the main results, the study concluded that DI significantly improved students’ English grammar learning achievement. Accordingly, the study suggested that differentiated instruction should be integrated into the regular EFL class to promote students’ learning.
