  • Phraseological Representation of the Category of Time in Russian, Chuvash and English: A Semantic and Linguocultural Perspective

    Abstract:
    The paper examines the semantic and linguocultural model of phraseological representation of the category of time in Russian, Chuvash, and English. The research material comprises lexicographic sources and fixed expressions with temporal semantics denoting duration, cyclicality, timeliness, expectation, temporal limit, and the impossibility of an event. The study employs the continuous sampling method, descriptive method, lexical-semantic, contextual, and comparative-contrastive analysis; a linguocultural approach is applied to interpret nationally-specific cultural meanings. The research was conducted in several stages, including the selection of units, their distribution into semantic groups, and comparison according to uniform parameters: time model, typical means of expression, cultural dominant, and nationally-specific zone of representation. The scientific novelty of the study lies in refining the comparative typology of temporal phraseology with the inclusion of Chuvash material, which has previously been underrepresented in research. Special attention is paid to Chuvash temporal-modal constructions with the meaning “will never happen.” The results obtained show that, within the scope of the material examined, the universal models are time as movement, as a resource, and as a cyclical process. At the same time, Russian material predominantly activates an evaluative-philosophical conceptualization of time, Chuvash — natural-ritual cyclicality, and English — punctuality, planning, and the pragmatic value of time.

    Статья посвящена проблеме повышения эффективности обучения фразеологии радиообмена, которая в значительной степени определяет способность и готовность выпускников авиационного вуза к ведению радиосвязи в режиме «воздух – земля». Автором рассмотрен вопрос взаимосвязи грамотного ведения радиообмена на английском языке с обеспечением безопасности полетов. В статье затронуты вопросы, касающиеся особенностей языка радиообмена и тех сложностей, которые возникают во время радиокоммуникации в полете. Исходя из этого рассмотрены пути преодоления этих трудностей и некоторые приемы работы для успешного формирования иноязычного коммуникативного навыка для применения его в профессиональной сфере.

    Abstract:
    Одной из главных задач в методике преподавания русского языка как иностранного является формирование фразеологической компетенции у учащихся. Решение этой задачи представляется чрезвычайно сложным по причине идиоматичности значений большей части фразеологизмов, создающих коммуникативные барьеры при общении иностранцев с носителями языка. В статье автор говорит о трудностях, встречающихся в процессе изучения идиом, а также дает практические рекомендации по их освоению.

    Abstract:
    The work is devoted to the analysis of Bosnian phraseological units with orientalism – the name of a sweet dish. The purpose of the article is to show the phraseological potential of borrowings-orientalisms naming sweets in the phraseology corpus of Bosnian Muslims. The relevance of the work is due to the need for a comprehensive study of phraseological units to identify common and idioethnic. The role of orientalisms in creating the imagery of phrasemes is shown in terms of ethnolinguoculturology. The material of the study is non-comparative phrasemes existing in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Methods of material processing: component analysis; linguoculturological analysis; structural and semantic modeling; comparative and synchronous descriptive. Structural and semantic models illustrate the interlanguage commonality of motivational ideas and at the same time specific, revealed at the level of imagery of phraseology. The research material shows a different phraseological potential of the names of sweet confectionery products of oriental origin. Arabisms and Persiisms as part of phraseological units are «indirect» borrowing: they entered of the inhabitants of Bosnia and Herzegovina through Turkish; they, like Ottomans, are more frequent in Bosnian phrasemes due to various historical and relevant reasons today. Some of the analyzed phrases are recorded by lexicographic sources and in other regions of Southern Slavia, but the activity of their use in live colloquial speech is typical precisely for the language of the inhabitants of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who have the so-called Bosnian Turkish.

В результате проведенного анализа были выявлены синтаксические и лексико-семантические особенности исследуемых фразеологических единиц с учетом географического фактора.Исследование проводилось с применением метода контрастивного анализа. Для отбора языкового материала были использованы данные французских, диалектных и франко-бельгийских словарей.

Русский язык и концепт Русского мира на сегодняшний день объективно становятся ядром лингвокультурной динамики и повседневной жизни приднестровцев. В статье рассматриваются особенности употребления фразеологизмов в русских художественных текстах приднестровских писателей Романа Кожухарова и Валерия Кожушняна.
