  • Prospects for the development of the tourism industry in Russia: identification of problems and suggestions for their elimination

    Abstract:
    This paper examines the prospects for the development of the tourism industry in Russia, identifies the main problems hindering its successful functioning, and suggests ways to eliminate them. The study is based on an analysis of the current state of the tourism infrastructure, the study of the needs and preferences of potential tourists, as well as an assessment of the effectiveness of existing measures to support and develop tourism. In the course of the work, methods of comparative analysis, statistical research, as well as expert assessments and surveys were used. The results of the study made it possible to identify the key problems of the tourism industry in Russia, such as insufficient infrastructure development, low staff qualifications, limited access to information about tourist opportunities, and others.     Abstract:
    The research is based on the methodology of assessing the potential of the tourist complex of the region. The application of the methodology made it possible to conduct a qualitative expert assessment of the reproduction of the tourist resources of the region on the example of the Ivanovo region, a single destination. SWOT analysis was chosen as the main method, which made it possible to conduct a comprehensive strategic analysis of the industry and its external environment. The assessment of the potential of the tourist complex is aimed at identifying the most promising tourist destinations in the region and the formation of information resources in tourism.
