- Abstract:
- The relevance of this study is determined by the growing influence of the cultural factor on the international strategy of transnational corporations amid the digitalization of communication channels and intensifying competition in foreign consumer markets. The object of the study is the international strategy of transnational corporations in the skincare cosmetics industry. The subject of the study is the mechanisms through which cultural differences shape the choice of foreign market entry modes, brand positioning, and product and communication policies under conditions of heterogeneous global demand. The purpose of the study is to identify the nature of culture's influence on the international strategy of transnational corporations and to develop an applied model of cultural adaptation based on the skincare cosmetics industry. The methodological basis of the study comprises a comparative case analysis of the strategies of four transnational corporations (L'Oréal, Beiersdorf, Shiseido, and The Estée Lauder Companies), together with an original empirical survey of 313 respondents, testing the statistical significance of intergroup differences using Pearson's chi-square test. The findings show that basic functional product characteristics, namely skin-type fit and ingredient transparency, exhibit no statistically significant cross-cultural differences (p > 0.05), whereas symbolic perception parameters, including naturalness, ethical positioning, and cruelty-free labeling, differ significantly between the Russian and international audiences (p < 0.05). The study concludes that the effectiveness of international strategy in culturally sensitive consumer market categories is achieved through a combination of standardization and localization rather than a choice between them: by preserving a universal functional core of the product while flexibly adjusting the symbolic layer of the brand to cultural context. This conclusion underlies the proposed eight-stage decision-making model for the cultural adaptation of international strategy.

- Abstract:
- The relevance of this study is driven by the growing number of international students from politically unstable regions in Russian universities and the insufficient development of a comprehensive approach integrating linguistic, social, cultural, and psychological aspects of adaptation. The aim of this work is to provide a theoretical substantiation and empirical verification of a psychological and pedagogical support model aimed at the linguosociocultural adaptation of preparatory faculty students from Mashriq countries. The article examines linguosociocultural adaptation as the inseparability of linguistic, social, and cultural components within the international educational environment. The materials comprise data from theoretical analysis of literature in educational psychology, intercultural communication, and andragogy, as well as empirical findings obtained from a sample of 120 preparatory students from Egypt, Libya, and Syria (2022–2025). Methods included questionnaires (Sociocultural Adaptation Scale, Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and the authors' Academic Motivation Questionnaire), in-depth interviews, participant observation, and a pedagogical experiment. The ascertaining phase identified the leading factors of maladaptation: language barrier, culture shock, consequences of psychologically traumatic experience, and insufficient secondary school preparation. The developed support program integrated language training, individual psychological counseling, tutoring, and a series of intercultural events. The post-implementation assessment demonstrated a statistically significant increase in sociocultural adaptation indicators by 35%, an improvement in academic performance by 28%, and a significant reduction in anxiety levels. It is concluded that linguosociocultural adaptation requires simultaneous pedagogical and psychological support; the proposed model has proven its effectiveness and can be recommended for scaling to other categories of students from unstable regions.

Social capital of students in the multiethnic educational environment of a Russian university: structure, formation mechanisms and development prospects
Book Chapter
Theoretical and practical aspects of pedagogy and psychology- Author:
- Olga V. Printsipalova
- Work direction:
- Глава 12
- Abstract:
- The chapter addresses the problem of formation and accumulation of students' social capital in the multiethnic educational environment of a modern Russian university. The authors conduct a theoretical and methodological analysis of key social capital concepts (P. Bourdieu, J. Coleman, R. Putnam) as applied to the specifics of higher education in a multiethnic society. The structural elements of students' social capital – trust, social networks, norms of mutual assistance – are identified and their dynamics in a mixed ethnocultural university environment are traced. It is demonstrated that the multiethnic educational environment simultaneously serves as a condition and a resource for the formation of social capital: it provides for the expansion of interethnic interaction networks, the development of tolerance and intercultural competence, and the accumulation of «bridging» social capital. A conceptual model for the formation of students' social capital in a multiethnic university is proposed, incorporating institutional, communicative, psychological-pedagogical, and value-based components. Practical recommendations for designing an educational environment conducive to the accumulation of social capital and the strengthening of interethnic trust are substantiated.

- Abstract:
- The development of educational export is an important strategic task both for Russian universities at the institutional level, allowing them to increase the level of global competitiveness, and at the state level, ensuring the implementation of the principles of the «soft power» strategy. Both of these goal-settings contribute to the achievement of national interests through attraction and persuasion. To increase the efficiency of the export of Russian education and high-quality training of specialists for the global labor market, it is necessary to develop effective methods, mechanisms and technologies for improving the intercultural adaptive environment of educational organizations, which became the main goal of this study. Cultural diversity is a key value guide for the classification of cultures of peoples and countries, as well as an important criterion for the effective management of multicultural groups and organizations. In the context of educational organizations, cultural diversity is becoming a powerful driver for the development of competencies in the host institutions for foreign students, but it is important to systematically approach all components of an intercultural adaptive environment based on the implementation and scaling of best practices. In this study, based on a sociological survey of foreign students in Russian universities, priority adaptation tools are systematized both along the internal contour of the educational organization, as well as and in external bilateral and network interactions. The research recommendations are both strategic in nature, defining the fundamental tasks of educational organizations to create an intercultural adaptive environment, and of an applied and methodological nature, based on proposals regarding the development of specific tools for intercultural adaptation.

- Abstract:
- The paper analyzes the experience of psychological support for the socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students at universities of the Russian Federation. The relevance of the work is due to the significant socio-cultural, psychological, and academic difficulties that foreign students face when studying at Russian universities and, in this regard, the need to replicate the successful experience of organizing measures to adapt this target group of students in the higher education system. The results of a monitoring survey of psychological services specialists conducted at the sites of 13 universities participating in the pilot testing of the psychological service model in the higher education system in terms of psychological support for foreign students are presented. The results of the design and analytical session organized by the Federal Resource Center for Psychological Services in the Higher Education System of the Russian Academy of Education are presented in order to further replicate successful practices of psychological support for foreign students at the university. A comprehensive program of measures for psychological support of foreign students at the university is proposed. Conclusions are drawn about the expediency of integrating individual measures to accompany and support foreign students into the overall structure of the psychological service of the university.

- Abstract:
- This section focuses on issues of improving the methodology of Russian language teaching and efficiency of teaching Russian in a multicultural environment with the use of elements of spiritual (including folklore) culture in educational institutions of the Mari El Republic (humanitarian gymnasiums, secondary and higher educational institutions). The authors of the section demonstrate the features of using folklore in the main areas of activities (both class and extracurricular) of experimental network platforms (FIRO) and the pedagogical workshop (Prosveshcheniye Publishers) and conclude that such projects, aimed at the sociocultural adaptation of Russian youth and their socialization and culturalization, are extremely important in the aspect of harmonizing interpersonal and intercultural relations in the modern Russian society. By referring to several facts of traditional Russian culture in their teaching of Russian as a foreign language, the authors of the monograph (E.A. Plotnikova, M.N. Pirogova) have received a certain positive response. It is evident that at the initial stage of learning, the students should acquire a kind of linguistic minimum, which includes knowledge about the culture of the country, its traditions, the distinctive features of verbal and non-verbal communication, etc. In such cases, the use of innovative pedagogical technologies, including olympiads and quests, usually provides positive results.
