The article discusses the demonstration experiment technique and methodology in the topic of anti-turbulent additives of university discipline «Hydraulics», describes the experiments of varying complexity, that are necessary during giving the lecture. These experiments have practical impor-tance for the oil and gas industry and stimulate the environmental culture of students improving.

the article makes an attempt to generalize the experience of using educational, fiction and memoir literature when lecturing on the course on strength of materials. Specific methodological recommendations are given for using of fiction in certain topics of the strength of materials course. There are creative tasks offered to students and which contain literary subjects.
