This article examines the impact of decreased sensitivity to stimuli of the serotonin-dopamine system on human mental state and behavior. It also reveals the neurobiological mechanisms of decreased receptor sensitivity and their connection with impaired emotional regulation, motivational-volitional functioning, and social functioning.
