- Abstract:
- There is a growing need for high-quality education that prepares students for the complex challenges of the modern world. As a result, the use of tutoring services is becoming increasingly common in the education system. However, it is necessary to study the opinions of high school students about the role of tutors and the use of their services in the educational process to determine the effectiveness of this approach. The relevance of this research lies in determining high school students' perceptions of tutors' role in the educational process. High school students are a key group of tutoring service consumers, and their opinions about tutors' role in the educational process may influence decisions about using such services. In this study, a survey method was used. The survey questions addressed students' opinions about tutors' role in the educational process, as well as their personal experience with using tutoring services. The analysis of the data showed that high school students generally have positive attitudes towards tutors and consider them important helpers in the learning process. Most of the survey participants noted positive results from using tutoring services, such as improved academic performance and confidence in their knowledge. However, some drawbacks of using tutoring services were also identified, such as high cost, mismatch of the tutor's and student's knowledge levels, and insufficient effectiveness in some cases. The use of tutoring services can be an effective tool for improving academic performance and motivation among high school students, but the drawbacks and limitations of this approach should be taken into account. The results of this study can be useful for school administrations, parents, and high school students in making decisions about using tutoring services in the educational process.

- Abstract:
- One of the manifestations of subjectivity of university students is their involvement in learning, actively studied in foreign and in Russian pedagogy, psychology and sociology of education. Various components of involvement in learning are distinguished, among which there is a motivational component. The purpose of the study was a comparative analysis of two methods for measuring the motivation of learning, based on different theoretical approaches, as well as an analysis of the relationship between academic performance as an effective component of involvement in learning and the motivational component of involvement measured by two different tools. The methods «Diagnostics of the motivation of students' learning» (Badmaeva, 2004), «Scales of academic motivation» (Gordeeva, Sychev, Osin, 2014) were used. In addition, students gave information on academic performance for past semesters. The study, conducted by an online survey in Google form, involved 115 university students aged 18–25 years. Correlation analysis (according to Spearman) and factor analysis were used in the data processing. As a result of the study, multiple significant correlations between scales of motives of the learning of two methods were obtained; in factor analysis, the scales were evenly distributed between the two factors; it was revealed that in each of the methods there are scales significantly correlating with the academic performance of students as an effective component of their involvement in learning; the motives of the learning are considered in relation to the types of activities of students, within which the actions of the learning are implemented.

Pedagogy and Psychology as Sciences for the Formation of the Potential of Modern Society- Author:

- Abstract:
- In the chapter, based on the works of Z. Freud and J. Lacan, reveals the impact of psychoanalytic theory on the formation of the concepts of «symbolic capital» and «habitus» by Pierre Bourdieu. Sociology does not pretend to replace psychoanalysis with its mode of explanation; it is only a question of constructing certain data differently, which psychoanalysis also takes as its object. Sociology and psychoanalysis act as different, complementary approaches to the same thing, the latter as internal to the former. Psychoanalysis offers a richer set of concepts for analyzing the idiosyncratic meaning that different people attach to general social conditions. Sociology and psychology must join forces, but this will require them to overcome their mutual suspicion, to analyze the genesis of investment in the field of social relations, constituted as an object of investment and concern, as a principle of investment in the social game. Bourdieu's ideas, including the concepts of habitus and symbolic capital, in the course of their further interpenetration with psychoanalytic theories, will open new horizons for understanding social reality.

- Abstract:
- The need to study academic engagement and its psychological components is due to the fact that some university students do not study in full force, do not master the necessary knowledge and competencies. The goal was to highlight the psychological components of student engagement in learning, as well as to study the connections between them and academic performance as an effective component of engagement. The methods used were “Emojis” (V.V. Gizhitsky), “Diagnostics of educational motivation of students” (N.Ts. Badmaeva), “Self-assessment of emotional and personal well-being” (G.A. Glotova, L.V. Karapetyan), pilot author's questionnaires “Inclusion in learning” and “Academic microdeviations”. Also, students gave information about the performance of past semesters and the course of study at present. The pilot study conducted by the online survey method involved 83 university students aged 16–26 years. Correlation analysis (according to Spearman) was used in the data processing. As a result of the study, multiple reliable correlations were obtained between psychological indicators of student engagement in learning, such as attitude to learning, motives of learning, inclusion in learning, emotional and personal well-being, behavior of students in classes in situations of fatigue or in the absence of interest in the studied material; it was revealed that the indicators of attitude to learning, inclusion in learning in seminar and practical classes, educational, cognitive and professional motives of learning, as well as “conditionally productive” academic microdeviation are significantly positively correlated with academic performance.
