  • Theoretical problems of mentoring formation in Russian universities

    Abstract:
    The chapter demonstrates the implementation of mentorship programs as one of the ways to optimize the process and outcomes of academic and educational work in accordance with higher education (HE) programs. At the outset of the study, essential characteristics are given to such basic concepts as «mentorship," «mentor," and «mentee." Based on their examination, as well as on a consideration of the current realities in which Russian universities operate, an interim conclusion is drawn about the fundamental possibility of using mentorship as a means of intensifying educational activity. The main methodological approaches to its implementation are examined. The chapter also discusses the models of mentorship that have found the widest application within organizations implementing higher education programs in our country. Further, the opportunities that exist for improving pedagogical activity carried out in the conditions of a modern university are studied, the realization of which will be facilitated by the further dissemination of mentorship.

    В статье анализируется психологическая структура профессиональной мотивации преподавателей технического университета, элементами которой выступают социально-психологические ориентации и установки на эффективный процесс взаимодействия с обучающимися. Профессиональная мотивация педагога вуза является одним основополагающих личностных качеств и обусловлена специфическими и сложными условиями преподавательского труда. Представлены результаты психодиагностического исследования, демонстрирующего преобладающую мотивационную направленность в профессиональной деятельности преподавателей, а именно деловую направленность и нацеленность на результат в контексте обучения студентов.

В заключении статьи обосновывается необходимость обучения преподавателей непедагогических специальностей дисциплинам психолого-педагогического цикла.

    The article is devoted to a particularly important problem for higher education: the possible risks in the interaction between the university lecturer and the students in the conditions of the pandemic caused by COVID-19. Views of various university professors on the problem are presented. Special attention is paid to several possible risks in the interaction between university lecturer and students: disruption of normal human communication; the state of modern technology – the Internet and the computer; the readiness of the two subjects – the university lecturer and the students to communicate optimally in the Internet space, realizing the two main forms of education: online learning and distance learning; the identification of the two forms of organization of the interaction between the university lecturer and the student in the conditions of a pandemic – online learning and distance learning; the overcrowding of the university lecturer when using online learning or distance learning, which has a negative impact on his health.

Автор пришел к выводу, что направление внимания на проблемы преподавательской деятельности и сознательная работа над их разрешением ведут к повышению творческой температуры преподавателя.
