The place of biblionyms in the onomastic space
Review ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 6 No 2- Author:
- Maria A. Markova
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The work is devoted to the study of biblionyms as one of the most important components of onomastics. It examines the biblionymy of Chuvash, Russian and English fiction using the methods of continuous sampling, systematization and classification of material, descriptive-analytical and comparative approaches. At the moment, biblionyms have not been studied enough. At the same time, their study is relevant and significant, since the title can be the key to understanding the text. This work is intended to clarify the interpretation of the term “biblionym”. At the same time, the author examines the functions of biblionyms, their classification, and identifies the place of titles in the system of onomastic terminology of the languages under study, which in the future should contribute to the development of the general theory of onomastics. The author of the work suggests using the term “biblionym” to understand the name of any text. At the same time, from his point of view, there is a need to introduce into onomastic studies such terms as “microbiblionym” for the names of chapters, paragraphs and constituent parts of the text and “macrobiblionim” for the names of collections of texts. By its position, a biblionym is a means of connecting the text with the outside world, in particular with the reader. Based on the biblionym, the reader will be able to form an idea of the content of the text.

- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- A multi aspect study of bisubstantive sentences of characterizing semantics is necessary to solve complex problems of syntactic analysis. The grammatical specificity of bisubstantial sentences lies in the morphological identity of the predicative minimum. The study has theoretical and practical tasks: identify the structural, semantic and communicative organization of sentences, propose methodological recommendations for syntactic analysis of sentences. The material of the study is modern literature. Analytical and descriptive methods are used to analyze the linguistic material. The problems of teaching syntactic analysis of sentences are identified through experimental methods. The main conclusions of the study: syntactic analysis of bisubstantial sentences should consist of traditional structural and semantic parameters, roles and functions in the semantic structure and communicative organization of a sentence, take into account context, stylistic and pragmatic factors. Syntactic phenomena should be studied from the functional position at all stages and levels of teaching syntax of the modern Russian language.

Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 5 No 2- Author:
- Eduard V. Fomin
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The study is devoted to the study of the conditions for the formation and functioning of the Cheboksary regiolect of the Russian language, which is distinguished by a number of stable linguistic parameters. The peculiar sound of the speech of the Cheboksary people has developed under the significant substrate influence of the Chuvash language, among the speakers of which there are currently active processes of a linguistic shift in favor of Russian. The work is written in the aspect of sociolinguistics and is based on the author’s long-term observations of the self-esteem of Cheboksary residents and their assessment by visitors. The purpose of the research is to expand the understanding of extralinguistic factors that do not directly affect the specifics of the speech of Cheboksary people, but at the same time enhance the impression of it from outside observers. The article deals with non-linguistic specific features inherent in the capital of the Chuvash Republic, including geographical, climatic, anthropological, technological and other components. Their presence greatly enhances the perception of the sound of the Russian speech of the inhabitants of Cheboksary and its agglomeration as a unique phenomenon of modern Russian culture. In turn, the specific conditions that support the Cheboksary regiolect are the result of a long historical and social process, including the mass migration of the population in the past, the mixing of different ethnic groups among themselves and the formation of modern peoples in their visually fixed physical features, anthropological impact on the ecumene, etc. in relation to the territory of Chuvashia and nearby regions.

On the Question of the Cheboksary Shibboleth
Short CommunicationEthnic Culture Volume 4 No 3- Author:
- Eduard V. Fomin
- Work direction:
- World languages and literature
- Abstract:
- The work is devoted to the study of the shibboleth in the speech culture of the inhabitants of the capital of Chuvashia. A shibboleth is a word that has absorbed the specific features of a language and is used to identify people for whom this language is not native. The relevance of the study is due to the very existence of the phenomenon of shibboleth in the everyday life of the residents of Cheboksary, which has not yet been studied from the point of view of linguocheboksary. The purpose of the study is to formulate a language unit that maximally concentrates the specific features of the Russian speech of the inhabitants of the city of Cheboksary. The material of the study was the speech samples of Cheboksary residents, during the quantitative and qualitative analysis of which a shibboleth was derived in the form of an interrogative phrase “Skazhite, pozhaluysta, nasha konferencia budet zavtra?” (Tell me, please, will our conference be tomorrow?). At the same time, checking with a shibboleth involves the task of transforming the specified phrase into the Cheboksary regiolect of the Russian language. Completing the task according to the linguistic preferences prevailing in Cheboksary should lead to the invariant “Skazhite-ka, u nas konferencia zavtra budet, chto li?”. The author of the work simultaneously considers Russian shibboleths aimed at the Chuvash linguistic culture, and vice versa. In the Chuvash environment, words with a concentration of a kind of Chuvash phonetics can act as a shibboleth aimed at Russians. In turn, the reproduction of the Russian shibboleth in the Chuvash environment, due to the developed Chuvash-Russian bilingualism, practically does not present any problem in modern realities.

The Opposition of the Definite/Indefinite Past Tensein the Kyrgyz Language: the Semantic Effects of the Translation of Chingiz Aitmatov Story “The White Ship”
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 4 No 1- Author:
- Begaiym A. Altynbekova
- Work direction:
- Languages of the Nations of the World
- Abstract:
- The article considers the category of time as a phenomenon of language and literary text based on the story of Chingiz Aitmatov "The White Ship". The interest to the category of time is caused by the asymmetry of the semantics of time in the Russian and Kyrgyz languages in the works of Aitmatov, which plays an important role in the translation of the text from Russian into Kyrgyz. The purpose of the study is to analyze the functions of the past tense, especially the past definite/indefinite in the Kyrgyz version of the story. The analysis is based on the onomasiological approach. The results of the analysis are summarized as follows. In the Russian and Kyrgyz languages, when expressing the grammatical category of time, there is a structural and semantic discrepancy between the forms of past and future tense. But in both versions of the story the past tense lies at the central place. On the one hand, this is due to the non–subjection of the future to human nature, on the other hand, to respect for the past of ancestors as an experience that warns the next generation against mistakes. In the Kyrgyz version of the story, thanks to the various forms of the past tense, the translator was able to vividly convey the whole range of emotions of the boy when it came to the Mother Deer, and the translator was also able to show the importance of the ancestors for the boy.

Visitors' View on the Dialect of Cheboksary – 2
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 3 No 3- Authors:
- Tamara N. Erina, Eduard V. Fomin
- Work direction:
- Languages of the Nations of the World
- Abstract:
- The research continues the cycle of the group of authors devoted to the problem of regional variation of the Russian literary language. The paper analyzes the observations of newcomers over the speech of Cheboksary residents. This technique is new in the linguocheboksaryka and, in theory, should help in replenishing the markers of the Cheboksary region with elements that are familiar to the permanent residents of the city, but from the point of view of the Russian literary language are specific uses. As a result of the study, the authors come to the following conclusions: from the point of view of orthology, the speech of Cheboksary residents is distinguished by stable peculiar features, which, however, are already recognized by the inhabitants of the city as such; in the aspect of research methods, the method of talking with visitors can work fully at the beginning of research, at an advanced stage of developing the problem, its effectiveness decreases, but this conclusion does not become a condition for abandoning the method, but requires an increase in the number of respondents and complication of the conversation. The work also presents excerpts from conversations that made Cheboksary residents think about the quality parameters of their speech and the speech of townspeople in general. The study seems to be important for understanding the Cheboksary regioelct of the region as a phenomenon of the Russian language.

Cheboksary Regiolect of Russian Language: the New Vernacular
Research ArticleEthnic Culture Volume 3 No 1- Authors:
- Eduard V. Fomin, Tamara N. Erina
- Work direction:
- Special Theme of the Issue: Research of Chuvash Language and Culture of Chuvashia
- Abstract:
- This article is devoted to the study of non-literary units that exist in the Cheboksary regiolect of the Russian language and are recognized as important speech markers of the residents of Cheboksary. The purpose of the work is to characterize the Cheboksary regiolect of the region as a complex phenomenon that combines two hypostases – literary and new vernacular, as well as to analyze uncodified colloquial vocabulary. The material of the research was, first of all, lexico-phraseological units collected by the authors in the course of long-term observations of the speech of the inhabitants of Cheboksary. The conclusions of the work are based on the analysis of the material from the orthological point of view. As a result of the research, the authors came to the following conclusion: in the capital of the Chuvash Republic there is a stable specific layer of linguistic units localized by the city and its agglomeration. It is represented by expressive uncodified lexical and phraseological units, Chuvash-Russian new formations, imitation of the Russian speech of the Chuvash. Moreover, such cheboksarisms are well known within the functioning of the regiolect, and do not belong exclusively to any social group. This lexical layer, despite its insignificant volume, is important for the self-identification of the inhabitants of Cheboksary as carriers of a separate linguistic phenomenon, and it must be recognized as the main source of the Cheboksary regional dictionary.

About the Dictionary of the Cheboksary Regional Speech of the Russian Language
Research ArticleEthnic Culture No 4 (5)- Authors:

- Work direction:
- Problems of Crosslinguistic and Intercultural Communication
- Abstract:
- This work is devoted to the discussion of the problems associated with the compilation of the the Russian language dictionary of the Cheboksary region speech. The purpose of the work is to consider the macro- and microstructure of the dictionary of speech of the residents of Cheboksary and the agglomeration. The authors use traditional methods of linguistics: descriptive, comparative, contrastive. The article is based on the materials of the designed dictionary, which, in turn, were collected in the course of many years of observation of the speech of the Cheboksary residents in natural conditions. The reaserchers come to a conclusion that he Cheboksary regiolect is an example of a self-sufficient collective idiolect, possessing stable specific uses of literary units of the Russian language. These units can exist not only in the form of published systematized lists or databases, they can also be lexicographic. Presenting the material as a separate vocabulary gives it more weight than publications in the form of small genres. Lexicography offers non-traditional urbanonyms, specific stable phrases and sentences, chuvashisms, which in general can be called cheboksarisms. In a dictionary entry, the required elements are the lemma and its interpretation. At the same time, such elements as transcription of the headword and chuvashism, etymological information, illustrative material can be activated in its composition as needed. By and large, the dictionary is intended not only to provide a scientific understanding of the Cheboksary region, but also to serve as an assertion of the region's self.

Ukrainian in Russian Context: Pattern, Folklore and Ethnic Symbols (on the Exsples of Epigraphes in "The Fair at Sorochyntsi" of N.V. Gogol)
Research ArticleEthnic Culture No 1 (1)- Authors:
- Aleksandr V. Savchenko, Anna G. Bodrova
- Work direction:
- Problems of Crosslinguistic and Intercultural Communication
- Abstract:
- In this article, from the linguistic and ethnoculturological points of view are analyzed Ukrainian texts of epigraphs in «The Fair at Sorochyntsi» by N.V. Gogol, included in the Russian-language prose, which is an integral part of Russian literature, culture and history. Purpose of the article: This work is an attempt to interpret Ukrainian conceptual symbols, images and metaphors used by the author to create a special atmosphere of Ukrainian identity. Methods: In the study the methods of contextual-pragmatic and lexical analysis are used. In particular, the subject of our study is the Ukrainian texts of the epigraphs to each of the chapters of the above-mentioned literary work, which, due to insufficient knowledge of the Ukrainian cultural context, are far from always deeply understood by the Russian reader and do not always evoke the same associative series as the bearer of the Ukrainian worldview, although close to the Russian one, but still significantly different from it. Results: As a result of the study it is possible to state, that here we deal with the problem of the difference in the cultural perception and understanding the original significance, laid down by N. Gogol in the text and the meaning of his work. It is concluded that the analyzed text of Gogol demonstrates not only the cultural similarity of the two peoples, but, which seems to be more important, the differences in the worldview and way of life of Ukrainians and Russians. The epigraphs in Ukrainian cited by the writer at the beginning of the each chapter serve as a kind of «textual marker», which helps the reader to delve deeper into the content of the text and try to understand not only explicit meaning but also implicit senses implied by the author in its structure.

- Work direction:
- Theoretical and applied education research
- Abstract:
- The article describes the formation of the Crimean regional version of the Russian literary language and the principles of compiling a regional linguocultural dictionary. The main problem addressed in the study is the application of functional-semantic description techniques and the ideas of geo-russistics to the practice of compiling a new type of linguocultural dictionary describing the regional version of the Crimean Russian language and representing the basic elements of the regional concept sphere. The purpose of article is to analyze the concept «Crimean regional version of the Russian literary language» in relation to the task of compiling the Russian linguocultural dictionary of the Crimea. Methods: descriptive, comparison, analysis. The following principles are recognized as innovative concepts of the «Russian Linguocultural Dictionary of the Crimea»: interdisciplinarity, functional-semantic approach to considering the relationship between a concept and means of its vernal implementation, regionalism, ideographic principle of modeling the conceptual continuum of a dictionary, historical and cultural commentary. The study examined the content of the term «regiolect», which is understood as a variant of the literary language formed in conditions of interacting with non-literary forms (dialect, vernacular, etc.) and / or other languages in the socio-cultural conditions of a particular region. As a result of the study, linguoculturological phenomena are presented as interpreted dictionary entries. The research results are important for the introduction of innovative teaching methods at schools and universities, as they develop the ideas of Crimean studies which are a new branch of regional pedagogy.
