- Abstract:
- The article is devoted to discussing social and pedagogical context for the processes of upbringing and education. The purpose of the study is to disclose the specifics of upbringing and education contributing to positive socialization of the individual in the circumstances when the social component of modern life has gained greater significance. The research methods include the study and analysis of academic and pedagogical publications on the discussed issue. The article examines integration and differentiation as trends in the progress of modern pedagogical science. The author highlights the issue of interconnection and independence between general pedagogy, social pedagogy and other human sciences. The idea of social context for traditional pedagogical processes of education and instruction is argued in the article. The author focuses on transformation that these processes undergo in the present-day context for an individual’s social development, as well as on risks and barriers in solving educational problems arising in that context. The article reveals the role performed by child’s upbringing and education as factors of positive socialization. The author presents her standing in viewing the concept of “positive socialization”, and in defining the role of positive thinking in this process. The article also suggests there is a need for socio-pedagogical support for an individual’s positive socialization. The concept and content of socio-pedagogical support of a student in the process of upbringing and education is briefly revealed. The author concludes by stating a demand to modify methodology of researching processes of education and instruction in the domain of an individual’s socialization.

The main forms and methods of interaction with a guardian family are described, affecting its educational potential and the goodwill of relations between children and adults in the family. The results of the diagnosis are described and analyzed, showing the main difficulties that require targeted cooperation of adults to improve psychological and pedagogical comfort in the life of a guardian family.

- In the modern educational process, a significant role should be given to psychological and pedagogical support for gifted children, because in the school environment, their self-esteem often becomes inadequate. Creating a psychologically safe environment, pedagogical conditions, and the correct relationship between teachers and pupils is the task of the school team to maintain normal self-esteem of gifted pupils. The problem is particularly evident in primary school age when moving to a new social environment, so the work of teachers and psychologists at this age stage should be particularly detailed.

- The article is devoted to the problems of preparing future teachers at the university for effective interaction with gifted children. The theoretical basis for successful training is the concept of pedagogical support. The advisability of using ideas and support tools as an alternative to psychological support is proved by the authors. Potential and real risks for gifted pupils are considered. The technology of preparing future teachers to support gifted pupils using the theory of generations has been developed and implemented.

- A scientific analysis on the problem of gifted children is presented, and both positive and negative age-psychological features of gifted primary school children are thoroughly characterized. Psychological and pedagogical support aimed at identifying and taking into account characteristics for a specific age, peculiarities of child’s intellectual and personal development is considered an effective method of pedagogical activity in the work with gifted children. A meaningful characteristic of psychological and pedagogical work with children in each problematic sphere is given. Among them: motivational, social, emotional, will and cognitive spheres.

- A teacher working with gifted children should take into account the peculiarities of motivation of gifted students, strive to activate it and maintain it at the proper level in order to increase the effectiveness of professional activities. The article presents four types of gifted children, identified based on the level and type of motivation. The characteristic of behavioral features and specifics of educational activities of representatives of each type is given. Examples of psychological and pedagogical support that are most effective for each type are pointed out.
